First spotted as a level five raid boss as part of the Pokemon Go Stadium event in Japan, Mewtwo will be coming soon to raids worldwide! Despite receiving a nerf before its release, Mewtwo still appears to be a force to be reckoned with. However, it won’t come easy, as it’s being introduced as part of a new exclusive raid mechanic.
Unlike raids we’ve seen to-date, you can’t just access it by visiting it. Instead, the game will give you an invite to the raid if you’ve beaten a raid boss at that specific gym at some point in the past. While there has been a lot of conjecture around this mechanic being bad, I’m reluctant to write it off until we get more information. If players are given ample time to prepare for the appointment, and if the raid times are of reasonable length, then this should work out fine for most.
Admittedly, I’m a bit fatigued from weeks of non-stop raiding. That said, this is the big one, and I can’t wait to add Mewtwo to my squad! Are you ready for the biggest Pokemon Go battle yet?
