Weeks after Gen 3 made its subtle debut as part of the Halloween event, 50 more Pokemon from the Hoenn region will soon be making their debuts in Pokemon Go. This includes Treecko, Torchic, and Mudkip. It will also introduce a dynamic weather system to the game that will impact in-game activity based on what’s happening in your immediate surroundings.
For example, Mudkip will spawn more often during rainy days. Another example of the weather system at play is that on sunny days, fire attacks would be more effective.
I’m still playing Pokemon Go regularly and am rapidly approaching the level cap, so these updates are a welcome addition. I’m always up for adding new entries to the Pokedex, and the weather system seems like a great way of spicing up the formula while further integrating the game with the real world. That said, I’m not looking forward to seeing the Canadian snow icon appear on my screen every day for the next four months.
