Pick Up Post: Cobra Clutch

Earlier this week, I found myself hanging out at my local EB Games while my mom was at the Lenscrafters across the mall. After cycling through their inventory with my brother, we talked to the on-duty cashier, who just happened to be my brother’s friend. I had come into the store with no intentions to buy anything, but he made me an offer on a game I couldn’t refuse.

Stranglehold was a game that made an impact on me when I first tried the demo. It was far from the greatest game, and in some respects, it was kind of busted, but the mechanics of shooting guys entertained me enough that I played the demo through a second time. Not enough to buy it at full price, but enough that I would keep tabs on the price until the time was right.

I watched this game’s price tumble to single digits, as the game kind of bombed and Midway went out of business. With no one left to claim royalties on the game, I was able to buy the collector’s edition for the rock-bottom price of $3. At that price, it’s hard to turn down almost anything, although I did turn down TNA Impact for the Wii at the same price.

No idea when I’ll get around to playing this. I may chip away at it on weekends cause I know it’s not that long of a game. If you’ve already played it, do you think I got my $3 worth?
