Usually, when I’m in the car alone, I listen to video game podcasts. I usually spend about two hours a day driving, so it’s a great time to catch up on the latest and greatest in gaming. When my girlfriend is in the car though, I recognize that she doesn’t care to listen to nerds talking about StarCraft II or NPD sales.
She has listened to a few episodes of the Giant Bombcast, which she does enjoy to some extent. However, there is one sort of gaming podcast that she absolutely loves to listen to and one we now listen to together: Game Scoop! Presents Knockin’ Boots.
I’ve been a long time GameScoop listener. Over the past year or so, the show added a segment called “Knockin’ Boots”, where the hosts answer listener questions relating to love. While the majority of this segment has nothing to do with video games, the GameScoop crew do a great job in picking questions and answering them in entertaining fashion.
One day while my girlfriend and I were in the car, I skipped straight to the “Knockin’ Boots” segment and she loved it. Since then, we’ve listened to the standalone “Knockin’ Boots” podcasts together in the car and she’s thoroughly enjoyed them. Video games aren’t universal, but love is, and nerd love can be especially funny.
