As with Dragon Age: Origins, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is a game that is way outside of my comfort zone. Other than the fact that it is a first-person RPG, all I know is that it’s made by Bethesda, that it is/was really buggy, and that a lot of people love this 100+ hour game.
I never would have picked this up on my own, but I received the PlayStation 3 version as a Christmas present. I’m not sure what the impetus was to get me this, other than the fact that I like video games, but I always appreciate the thought when someone gets me a video game as a gift. I may also appreciate this game on its own merits. I may not think that I’m interested in playing a gargantuan first-person RPG right now, but it may win me over if I give it a chance.
Elder Scrolls V is coming at some point this year, so I will for sure give it a go before then. For now though, don’t hold your breath for impressions on Oblivion. I’ll probably tackle Dragon Age before this one, but I’ll certainly give it a shot at some point.
