Let’s Talk About the PlayStation Network Security Breach

Most PlayStation 3 owners by now have experienced the unfortunate PlayStation Network outage, which has been in effect for a week now. It sucks. It also sucks that it won’t be available again for at least another week. What sucks most though, is the fact that every PSN account was compromised by hackers. Whoever committed the crime likely has enough of our personal and financial information to ruin a number of people’s days.

Hopefully you and I won’t become the victims of identity theft. As a means of avoiding such a fate, we can change all our passwords, monitor our emails for phishing scams and keep a close eye on our credit card statements for any unusual activity. It can be a lot of work to protect ourselves from the hackers that did this, but it may very well be worth it.

Does this recent attack on PSN make you view Sony and its service differently? Are you angry with how this situation has shaken down? Let’s talk about this in the comments!

Well I hope that when the hackers have been compromised and are brought to justice that we never have to go through this ordeal again. However I hope that Sony was careful with this issue when it happened because I don’t want to start hating the company because of this potential neglect of personal information. I also would like to state for the fact that I have never used a credit card number on PSN so I can breath easy, if you did Jett, you are in my thoughts. You know what the worst thing about this is Jett? Those annoying fanboys on XBLA have seen the Xbox network black out multiple times and at one point for 2 whole weeks but this is a first for PSN and I can’t take the constant, horrid manners spewing from these people! I sometimes want to crawl into the foetal in a dark corner just to black out their annoying habit of being total ass hats. Sorry for the foul language but their is no other way to say it. What do you think will come of this Jett? I think you can’t really blame Sony, they just came out of a disastrous Tsunami recently and have been trying to get back on their feet ever since then. I hope they learn from this unfortunate experience and really pull together for the near future and the long term future of Playstation.

Ya know why cant the PSN just boost their security see if anything is happening and take them down. I mean come on use the god damn FBI for all I care. I mean like, I really want to grab a baseball bat, and just beat the living fucking shit out of them! Oh boy those would be happy days. And I dont care if I go to Hell for it I just want to play on fucking line LBP2 levels!
