By the time this post goes live, my girlfriend and I will have stepped foot in London, England. With little to no access to the internet for the next week or so, you won’t be seeing me writing any up-to-the-minute news or anything of that nature.
However, there will still be stuff to read on In Third Person. Before getting into some new posts, I thought now would be a great time go back through the archives and spotlight some great posts from the past that you may have missed. If you’re thinking that I’m taking the easy way out on this one because I’m out of the country, you would also be correct, but I swear these posts are worth going back for!
Years before I successfully fixed my Mad Catz TE, I had other gaming hardware problems. The original Rock Band instruments were built horribly. In particular, the drum sets broke down after only a few months of play. After going through 4 different sets, my warranty ran out, and the only alternative to buying a new set was to try and fix it myself. Based on the picture above, you can probably guess how well it went.

Girlfriend Gaming: Why Make Her Join the Darkside?
This was the first in my series of Girlfriend Gaming posts. While most of the posts that followed are actually about my girlfriend Steff and her journey into the medium through my eyes, this one takes a step back and covers the idea of converting your significant other into a hardcore gamer. I still don’t like the idea of forcing change upon a person, but this is my take on the matter should you be interested.
Pick Up Post: You Say You Want A Revolution
Remember Rock Revolution? Odds are you don’t, or remember it more than you’d like to. Besides just being a poorly made game, Rock Revolution my very well be the most ill-conceived game of this generation. If you have a morbid curiousity about Konami’s attempt to take back what they started with Guitar Freaks, Drum Mania and Karaoke Revolution, check out my impressions of the game, which I was able to buy brand new for a whopping $2. Just so you know, even at $2, the store wasn’t even able to sell all of their copies of Rock Revolution.

Why I Maintain A Blog About Video Games
I poured my heart out on this one. Not knowing that I was only a few months away from being featured on the WordPress.com home page, I wrote down why I love writing in this blog even when the world didn’t know it existed. Since I wrote this post, I went from having more fingers than daily visitors to nearing the threshold required to qualify for an e3 press badge. Does that change my perspective on why I write? I don’t think so. I still love video games and writing about video games, and I’d like to think that this blog would continue as is, even without the WordPress.com bump.

Let’s Talk About Collector’s Editions of Video Games
I love the concept of collector’s editions for video games. However, back when I wrote this, I hate the execution of them. I still do. Find out why in this post. I’d still love for you to voice your opinion in the comments, but I won’t be able to answer back for a little while. Kick off the discussion without me!
