Out Now – Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition

Though the eyes of most gamers are focused squarely on E3, the fighting game world gets a major release today. If you own a copy of Super Street Fighter IV, you can now purchase Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition as DLC for $15. The update will feature four new characters (Yun, Yang, Evil Ryu and Oni), new balance changes and a number of major upgrades to the replay channel.

It’ll be interesting to see the response towards Arcade Edition nowadays. The Street Fighter IV series has been wildly popular since its release in 2009, but recent releases such as Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and Mortal Kombat have gone a long way to move Street Fighter IV out of the spotlight. The Street Fighter IV series of games is still my favourite of the bunch, but I spend most of my time playing Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and Mortal Kombat instead because they’re really good and have more buzz around them.

In any case, I’m sure to pick it up and spend a lot of time with it. It pains my soul to know that I’m not as good at Street Fighter IV as I once was a few months ago because of the time I’ve spent with other fighting games of late, so that may be enough of a motivator for me to keep it in the rotation.

Do you have any intentions of picking up Arcade Edition?
