My experience with R Mika in Street Fighter Alpha 3 is largely non-existent. However, it wasn’t hard to see the enthusiasm that people have for her, as many fans for years have been clamoring for the wrestler to return. Finally, she has, as the newest member of the Street Fighter V roster. Never cared much before, but holy cow do I care now.
There’s a lot to unpack here. She’s a wrestler with a ton of recognizable wrestling moves, from powerbombs, to airplane spins, and even a Stone Cold Stunner! She can throw people into the corner and attack them as they stumble back towards her, as if she was throwing them against the ropes of a wrestling ring. Best of all, she has a tag team partner! As her V-Trigger, she can call in her partner for an assortment of different moves, acting a lot like assist moves in the Marvel vs. Capcom series.
Traditional wrestling moves plus Marvel assists put R Mika way over the top for me. This is probably the most excited I’ve been for a character reveal yet. Keep bringing the goods Capcom!
