After a series of returning favourites, Capcom introduces a brand new character to the Street Fighter universe. Falke was originally designed to be an M. Bison clone, but she has broken free of his grasp and now fights alongside of Ed as a member of his Neo Shadaloo faction. She has the ability to imbue Psycho Power into physical objects, which allows her staff to do more than just conk people on the head.
Having watched the trailer a number of times now, my feelings are mixed. I think her overall look and animations are cool. However, I don’t like the idea of her staff doubling as a gun. To me, it just looks really goofy.
On top of that, I think her Critical Art looks really underwhelming. Once you really break it down, she just hits her opponent with her stick twice.
Most problematic for me is the fact that she has Ed-style special move inputs are actually even more simplified. All her special moves are done with a two-button combination, which for some is awesome. For me, I actually find the simplification to be even harder to grasp due to how different they are from the norm.
I still feel like my curiosity is high enough that I might spend Fight Money on her. Hopefully then she’ll prove me wrong!
