On Saturday, I took a visit to one of my favourite independent video game retailers with my girlfriend because we just happened to be in the area. After circling around the store and trying out Blazblue on the PSP, a game in the bargain bin caught my eye, which I immediately picked up.

Zack and Wiki: Quest for Barbaros’s Treasure was one of those games that was critically acclaimed but didn’t do all that great at retail. To be fair, Capcom didn’t put all that much effort into marketing it. The game is cursed with a confusing and not very good name and it never received any promotion. In any case, it received a lot of positive buzz from pretty much everyone who has played it. It’s an adventure game that benefits greatly from its creative use of the Wii remote.
I passed on it when it first came out because I wasn’t ready to pay full price for a game I wasn’t sure I would like. However, I was able to grab it for a heavily discounted price and my brother was also willing to pay for half of it. I look forward to playing this, even though I’m not sure where I will find the time in between my new job and all the other games I’ve bought of late.
