While you’re busy opening gifts from Santa, I hope you find a place in your heart to give back beyond the gifts you’ve given your family and friends. One charity I donate to every year during the holiday season is Child’s Play. This year, I donated a copy of The Book of Life to my local children’s hospital, which I hope brings a few smiles to children who could really use the extra cheer. If it’s not Child’s Play, there are a number of other worthy causes worth your support. This is certainly a time of receiving, but don’t forget that the giving part is important too!
Donate to Child’s Play Today
With the holidays quickly approaching, now is a great time to donate to Child’s Play Charity. Since 2003, they’ve helped provide hospitalized children across North America with toys and games. This is a cause that I feel is very easy for us as gamers to get behind, and I personally have donated to the cause for the last few years. If you can provide some support, you can donate through the official Child’s Play website, or one of the many fundraising events for the cause.
At In Third Person, we mostly focus on the fun and games of life. Unfortunately, life for many doesn’t have much in the way of fun or games. Through a donation to Child’s Play Charity, you can help bring the fun and games back to a hospitalized child.
I know it’s Christmas Eve, and you’re likely to be extremely busy today, but if you can spare a few minutes and a few bucks, please donate to the Child’s Play Charity. There are a lot of great causes you can support this holiday season, but as gamers, this one is a great one to get behind. Child’s Play has helped raise over $7 million dollars in donations of toys, video games, books and cash for sick kids in children’s hospitals around the world.
I have been donating to my local children’s hospital through Child’s Play for the last few years now and I’ll continue to support the program for as long as it’s around. You don’t have to follow my lead if you don’t want to, but if you’re got some extra holiday spirit to share, here’s one more option.
