Kratos is Playable in Mortal Kombat 9 as a PlayStation 3 Exclusive

Kratos is set to appear as a playable character in the PlayStation 3 version of Mortal Kombat 9. Stickskills.com reported late last night that this will be confirmed in the January issue of Game Informer, which is set to hit newsstands later this week.

Based on what’s been reported, we know that he won’t be playable in single player, but he will have his own move set, fatalities and a God of War themed stage.

The fighting game genre has no shortage of cross-overs, but this is the coolest one in recent memory. I was originally planning on buying the XBOX 360 version of this game, but being able to play as Kratos only on the PS3 is making me think twice. Will the XBOX 360 get its own exclusives?

It is a huge disappointment that he won’t be in the story, maybe because the only logical way it can happen is Kratos killing everybody in the first minute of the game and then eventually killing himself eventually leading to God of War 4. Face the facts people, this game will obviously happen. But until then I can’t wait to get my hands on this.

Sorry to be immature about the topic, it’s just that I am really excited about this game. Kratos has a sensational reputation for being extremely tough when it comes to situations like this. It only makes sense that he is not in the story, he would be so out of place with that kind of setting.
