My Big Question For Mass Effect 3

A few days ago, the latest issue of Game Informer shed light on some new Mass Effect 3 details. While it was good to see any news about the upcoming sequel to one of my favourite 2010 games, none of the information revealed struck me as a surprise. Granted, I haven’t actually read the magazine, just the bits mentioned on web sites, so maybe the answer to my biggest question is there.

If you’d like to know what my big is, read through to the rest of this post. Reader beware though, this contains spoilers!

Every piece of coverage I’ve seen to date talks about how Shepard starts out the story. However, if you played Mass Effect 2 a certain way, everyone is dead, including Shepard. My game didn’t conclude that way, but I’m sure there are some people that played that game who did not get a happy ending from their Mass Effect 2 playthrough.

Killing off the main character in part 2 must lead to some sort of fundamental shift in the third act. Does it branch off into almost a new game? Do they find a way to have Shepard come back to life somehow?

I don’t really need to know much about this game before launch. I’ll be there day one, eagerly giving BioWare my money. I’m just curious to see how they handle that whole process. How do you think they’ll handle it?

Now Jett you know I haven’t finished ME2 yet, it’s still in it’s wrapping on my table just staring at me until I decide to put down Killzone, infamous and Uncharted 2 and give it a proper play through. I bought the PS3 version because of the free DLC. Sorry but I can’t read a post that contains spoilers of a game I paid $45 for! However I have one question if you can shed some light on it Al Mighty Jett, has the Mass Effect 3 engine in anyway changed from the PS3 version of Mass Effect 2? That is all.

P.S I revisited the old post of you announcing your favourite games of 2010 and although it really gets to me because my favourite games didn’t win, it brings back memories…

I spoiler tagged this post for a reason.

In regards to your question, I have no idea what adjustments they’ve made to the engine. I’m sure it’ll look and run well either way 🙂

I didn’t read the post because of the spoiler alert, I’m just sad that I couldn’t read it because of the spoiler :/

Sorry. It’s a monster spoiler, depending on how you play the game. So don’t read it 😛
