In just a few days, Capcom is scheduled to open the fighting game vault once again and release Marvel Super Heroes and Marvel vs. Capcom 1 together as Marvel vs. Capcom Origins for XBOX Live Arcade and PlayStation Network. Though this pair of vs. games may not have the legacy that Marvel vs. Capcom 2 does, they were considered great for their time.
My experience with both of these titles is limited, as I wasn’t playing fighting games at the time. However, I’m excited to pick both of these up; at least to fill out that missing portion of my fighting game knowledge.
As far as extras go, this is going to get a treatment similar to the one Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online Edition got, so expect GGPO net code, challenge modes, online spectator modes and replay saving. Based on their previous experiences, I’m confident in Capcom’s ability to port these games properly.
Will you be picking these up this month?
I didn’t know Capcom was implementing the challenges like they did with Third Strike. That’s a good addition that might just push me to buy this.
