Turtle Rock Studios and Warner Bros. have announced that they’re teaming up to create the zombie horde shooter Back 4 Blood. With Turtle Rock being the original team behind Left 4 Dead, this is the right team for a spiritual successor to a fan favourite.
I remember Left 4 Dead skyrocketing to the top of my most wanted list during the year of its release thanks to its killer demo on the Xbox 360. Though you could complete a run of every level the game had to offer in under five hours, my brother and I couldn’t get enough of running through those levels again-and-again.
By the time Left 4 Dead 2 came out, I was kind of worn out on the concept. Granted, the sequel came out not long after the original, which was too much in such a short span of time. With so much time having passed since, I’m ready for another one. Streaming the original Left 4 Dead a few months back served as a reminder for how much I loved this game and how exciting it would be to play a modern take on the formula.
We likely won’t get our hands on it anytime soon. According to the news, they don’t even have a logo design yet. Nevertheless, I’ve penciled this onto my list of games to keep an eye out for!
