Uncharted 3 Single Player Review

Back in 2009, Uncharted 2 was a groundbreaking game. When I think about that game in retrospect, I think fondly about the great characters, the great story and those incredible setpieces. I still get the chills thinking about playing through that moment in the collapsing building and the train sequence. It wasn’t a perfect game, but it was definitely ahead of it’s time. Even in 2011, there isn’t really another game out there like it.

Well, there wasn’t anything like it until the release of Uncharted 3 a few weeks ago. For better or worse, Uncharted 3 is essentially more Uncharted 2 and not much beyond that. That can’t be a bad thing, can it?

Pick-Up Post: Uncharted 3

Yesterday, I picked up my copy of Uncharted 3, the biggest PlayStation 3 exclusive title this year. I have not had a chance to play it yet, but for sure I will be zoning out and playing a bunch of it today. As a huge fan of Uncharted 2, I can’t wait to jump back into the shoes of Nathan Drake and take on whatever may come my way.

Of course, a review will be on the way once I’ve played enough of it. For the time being, feel free to check out all of the other great content on In Third Person, or leave me a comment about Uncharted 3 or whatever you may feel like talking about.

I Just Discovered Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune From the Depths of 2007

Long before I owned a Playstation 3, I was excited to play Uncharted. All of the preview coverage of this game made it look beyond everything else out there. Alas, I was not about to drop upwards of $600 on a video game system at the time, especially when I had just gotten an XBOX 360. My excitement to play this series grew with the release of Uncharted 2, which many hail as the best game from 2009.

Now that I finally have a PS3 in the house, Uncharted was one of the first games I picked up. I just stopped at level 6 to write my impressions so far, which for the most part, are great.

Video Game Characters Worth Dating If They Existed In Real Life

Months after I posted my initial impressions of Mass Effect 2, this post continues to drive a lot of traffic to my site. Not because people want to read about how the game plays, but because they want to find sexy pictures of Shepherd’s crew member and possible love interest, Miranda. I know this because my search engine metrics always have Miranda’s name at or near the top of the list. I am well aware of the stigma that goes with those who are attracted to fictional, digitized characters. If you’re here for those reasons, I’m not here to judge.

Instead, I thought it would be fun to write about video game characters worth dating if they existed in real life. Video game characters of male, female, robot, alien or whatever orientation are often hypersexualized in appearance, but are paper thin in terms of character and personality. Most characters would make for a great fling, but a terrible significant other. With this post, I wanted to highlight a few characters that may be worth more than a one night stand.
