Back in January, this THQ game caught a lot of people by surprise. People who were expecting it to be a God of War clone were surprised at how Zelda-like it’s gameplay was. It reviewed well and as far as I know, sold above the company’s expectations.
For a number of reasons, I kept tabs on it until it came down to a lower price. A few weeks ago, it hit $20, and I grabbed my local Best Buy’s last copy.

Darksiders is a third-person action game that is part God of War, part Zelda. While you do have a number of combat options at your disposal, you will also fight through a number of dungeons and puzzle solve with new equipment throughout your journey.
Unfortunately, I haven’t done much in the way of console gaming at all of late. Right now, my days consist of work and my nights consist of either basketball, girlfriend time or family time. I still need to play more Super Street Fighter IV, Green Day: Rock Band and Super Mario Galaxy 2 on top of Darksiders (not to mention a bunch of iPhone/iPad games I bought on a whim that I’ve yet to mention on this blog). So far, I’ve only played through the opening sequence, which showed promise.
I’ve developed a bad habit of buying games that I’m never going to play. I really hope this won’t be one of those games. At some point, I’ll do my best to carve out some time to discover what life is like on the dark side.
