And I’m back! Happy 2012 everyone!
Before we leave the subject of Game of the Year, I thought I’d share Steff’s vote for Game of the Year. Her pick for Game of the Year 2011 is…

Disney Universe
She loved this game. We first played it at Fan Expo 2011, a few months before it came out and she was excited to play more. I gave it to her for Christmas and she plowed through the game with her sister in record time.
Steff also wanted me to give a nod to Epic Mickey, which she played through in 2011, though it was a 2010 release.
What’s your significant other’s Game of the Year? I’d love to hear from you in the comments!
Everyone I know of either loved Arkum, Uncharted or Portal 2 the most. Strangely enough, one of them loved Dead Island
Arkham City, Uncharted 3 and Portal 2 are all great games to rally behind. Arkham City and Portal 2 would both be in my top 5.
I can’t personally speak to the quality of Dead Island, but that game definitely has its share of fans.
Out of curiosity, where would Uncharted 3 be on your list?
Off the top of my head, I don’t think Uncharted 3 makes my personal top 10. While the consensus is that it’s one of the best games of the year and I respect it for what it does, it just didn’t live up to my expectations.
Sorry if I am getting a little nosey but what were your expectations? You don’t have to answer that, I just don’t seem to understand why Arkum City and Portal 2 but not Uncharted 3 : P
Not nosy at all. All of my sentiments about Uncharted 3 are in my review. Ultimately, my expectation was that Uncharted 3 was better than Uncharted 2. Personally, I don’t think it is.
Awww, at least it’s pretty much unanimous that the MP is a definite improvement. Oh well. Sorry to be a bigot about this.
I don’t play Uncharted multiplayer, so that point is lost on me, which is why the review only covered single player. I’m sure many would disagree with my sentiment, which is fine. I’m not against anyone enjoying anything.
I know, I’m just crushed when people don’t enjoy something that has a lot to give. But I’m nosey and I eventually turn it into a very awkward conversation lol.
Different strokes for different folks.
