After revealing a new stage and teasing the latest character with grainy camcorder footage, we finally get our first good look at Lola Pop in ARMS! While she looks pretty goofy, she’s certainly not clowning around in the ring.
In terms of unique character traits, Lola Pop can be seen blocking in mid-air, while also dropping at a faster rate than usual. She can also be seen performing some sort of super jump when charged.
As for her arsenal, she possess three new weapons. One is a nunchuck, which appears to travel in different ways. In one, it appears to spin on a vertical axis like a wheel. In another shot, it’s moving forward in a shield-like formation. Another is a Hydra-like arm that obstructs your opponent’s screen with stamps when it hits. Finally, the reflector shield arm will send your opponent’s punches back into their faces. The Guardian arm in its current state is one of the hardest to use, but adding a reflection element to it could make it a more viable style of arm.
Nintendo hasn’t given us an exact date on when she’ll arrive, but did say she’ll be part of the next update. They also announced for an upcoming Global Testpunch this weekend. Maybe we’ll get all of them at the same time?
