Nintendo eShop Black Friday 2019 Pick-Ups (So Far)

Black Friday may have come and gone, but the deals are still available on the Nintendo eShop until December 4th at 11:59pm PST. With over 800 Nintendo Switch games on sale, I couldn’t resist picking up a few games for myself. Here’s what I got!

Fantasy Strike

Fantasy Strike is a fighting game based on a card game based on fighting games. Having owned and loved the card game Fantasy Strike is based on for many years, it’s so cool to see the game come full circle. Besides being a translation of a card game, it makes a number of bold design decisions in an attempt to find a balance between accessibility and depth. Very curious to see if hits the mark!

Galaxy Champions TV

Galaxy Champions TV is one that came to my attention thanks to a recommendation from Rachel over at Double Jump. This one is a twin-stick shooter in the style of Smash TV with the addition of rogue-lite elements. Already a cheap game to begin with, this one came down to a price I couldn’t refuse.

Dead Cells

One of 2018’s most critically-acclaimed titles, my interest in Dead Cells has steadily grown with time. In the past year, other games with rogue-lite elements such as Into the Breach, 20XX, Moonlighter, and Death Road to Canada have opened my eyes to the genre. Now is a great time to take on one of the best in its class!

I really should stop there, but there are a number of games that are teetering on the precipice. Maybe I’ll do a part two of this post if I crack! What have you picked up so far?
