Next up, we’ve got another compilation of practical combo options for Rolento. JettInThirdPerson makes use of all the tools at the mercenary’s disposal in this demonstration. There are combos with Stinger, combos with Red Focus and combos that start off of a wall dive cross up. If you’re looking to add some Rolento tech to your tool belt, this is a great place to look.

Almost six years ago, Capcom ushered in the silver age of fighting games with Street Fighter IV. Along the way, Capcom has kept the game fresh with a steady flow of free balance patches and paid updates. Currently sold as a $15 update the existing game and later as a standalone disc, Ultra Street Fighter IV is latest – and quite possibly last – of the major updates planned for this modern classic. Adding in 5 new characters, new modes, new gameplay systems and another round of character balancing, Capcom is hoping to end the IV era with the definitive version of the game.
I finally get to play my favourite Street Fighter X Tekken character in a legitimate fighting game! My Rolento here is still super rough, but I’m working on it.
Meant to be a graphical showcase for Nintendo’s Ultra 64 hardware, the original Killer Instinct clearly prioritized style over substance. It’s rendered visuals were ahead of anything else at the time and its gameplay allowed players to pull off combos that routinely featured dozens of hits. For the most part, that was all it needed to be a success at the arcade and on the Super Nintendo.
With so many great fighting games out now and a community of players that is smarter than ever, it’s going to take more than pretty graphics, a loud announcer and flashy combos to make an impact. Luckily for us, Killer Instinct returns with some bite while retaining the essence of what made the original fun in the first place. Continue reading
Sporting a new and improved d-pad, The Xbox One controller is the most viable Microsoft controller for fighting games yet. However, for those who would prefer to fight the old-fashioned way, Mad Catz has you covered. If this was simply a standard Mad Catz Tournament Edition fightstick with new art, that would be great. However, they’ve gone the extra mile to evolve this fightstick to the point where this is their best one yet.
The release of Ultra Street Fighter IV may be looming, but Killer Instinct is still a game worth playing. Here’s a compilation of assorted matches where I either win or get brutally beaten.
