Christmas Gift Ideas for the Twitch Streamer in Your Life

Do you happen to have a streamer on your Christmas shopping list? While you might want to support them in their hobby, it can be difficult to know what to get them, especially if you’re not a streamer yourself.

If you’re in this predicament, here are a few things that the streamer in your life will truly appreciate!

Lights

Lighting is a crucial – and yet oftentimes overlooked – component of one’s streaming setup. They can be used to clearly present the streamer’s face or set the mood with coloured lights. This pair of Neewer LED panels can act as both thanks to the colour filters that come with it.

If you’re looking to get them a cost-effective solution for lighting up a room in a specific colour, consider RGB flood lights like these ones. There are a ton of these on the market, giving you plenty of options to choose from.

If you want to get really fancy, many manufacturers now make slick light panels such as the Nanoleaf lights. They come in many shapes and sizes and are usually controllable with a phone app. However, if the price has you feeling a bit anxious, there are number of cheaper alternatives out there that can create a similar vibe.

Decor

Bring a streamer’s room to life with some cool decor items! Possibilities are endless here, but a few places you can start with are art, plushies, figurines, and statues. You could even get crafty and make something that your streamer friend will proudly display in their studio!

Microphone

Does the streamer in your life sound like they’re talking through a telephone? Consider helping them upgrade with a USB microphone!

If you’re looking for a decent budget option, I’d recommend the Blue Snowball Ice. It’s the first mic I had for my stream and I think it’s a solid starter option. If you want something higher end, go with the Elgato Wave, which is a quality mic that comes with mixing software that gives streamers more control over their audio than any other USB mic on the market. For a streamer looking for something they can use long-term, consider the Shure MV7. Made by the folks behind the legendary Shure SM7B, the MV7 features both USB and XLR connections. This makes it easy for them to transition from a standalone USB mic to a full XLR interface!

Headset

For the streamer wanting to hear their in-game sound, Discord chat, and notifications all in one place, a good headset is a must. I recently invested in a pair of HyperX Cloud Alpha S headphones and I absolutely love them! HyperX is not the only brand in town, as many other reputable brands such as Razer, Logitech, Arctis and more make great headsets at virtually every price point.

Stream Controller

Stream controllers make managing one’s stream easier while also opening the door for new creative possibilities. I love the Elgato Stream Deck so much that I own and actively use two of them in my setup.

More recently, a new competitor in the stream controller space has entered. The Loupedeck Live looks incredibly appealing thanks to its mix of touch screen inputs, physical buttons, and physical knobs for audio control. Though it doesn’t have the same level of software support as the Stream Deck just yet, I’ve heard it’s still a solid controller with the potential to become even better.

Stream-Safe Music Subscription

Playing music in the background of one’s stream is a great way to set the mood. Unfortunately, most music isn’t safe to broadcast on stream and will eventually get you banned on any streaming platform. To circumvent this, you can provide your streamer friend with a subscription to stream-safe music such as Pretzel Rocks or Monstercat. Both services over thousands of stream-safe songs for just a few bucks a month.

Whether you decide to get the streamer on your list a high-end microphone or draw a sketch for them to hang on their wall, much love to you for supporting them in this hobby! Streaming – especially early on – can be a tough space where it can feel like no one is supporting you. Getting something to push their stream forward can not only improve their setup, but also double as sorely-needed validation for their efforts. Happy shopping!
