My Latest Street Fighter IV Project: Evil Ryu

When I made the switch to PlayStation 4, I wanted to use it as an opportunity to try something new with Ultra Street Fighter IV. Rose continues to be my main, but I’ve spent a lot of time experimenting with others. This time, I decided to embrace the Satsui No Hado with Evil Ryu.

Super Smash Bros for Wii U Review

My memories of playing Smash Bros. prior to the Wii U version are hazy at best. I remember having a great time with the Nintendo 64 and Gamecube iterations, though I went cold turkey once Brawl came out. Not to say that the Wii game did anything wrong per se, but I just had my fill of Smash Bros. at that point. With many years of recharging under my belt, now isn’t a bad time to come back.

Ultra Street Fighter IV battle: T. Hawk (DESATENTO) vs Decapre (jettFTW)

Decapre does not match up well against grapplers. If she isn’t careful, most of her offense can be immediately nullified by a command grab. T. Hawk has the ability to do just that, and his Condor Dives give him the mobility to chase her down if she should try and get away. This was a back and forth fight right up until the very end.

Ultra Street Fighter IV battle: Ryu (anon12345678910) vs Rose (jettFTW)

anon12345678910 does a great job of controlling the flow of this fight with his solid ground game. Relying on well-timed fireballs and pokes, he maintains control of the fight while keeping his jumps to a minimum. I’m forced to fight outside of my comfort zone in a fight that admittedly, isn’t going to be all that exciting for many to watch. Still, if you love watching battles where players are trying to control space from a distance, then this is right up your alley.

Ultra Street Fighter IV battle: Decapre (gibbygreatness) vs Decapre (jettFTW)

As Decapre, I thrive off of my opponent’s unfamiliarity against my character. Some fights against great players can be a breeze if they don’t know what’s coming. But what happens when the shoe is on the other foot and I’m squaring off against another quality Decapre player? We go mano-a-mano here in this tricky mirror match!

Ultra Street Fighter IV battle: Ken (Daviiid250) vs Decapre (jettFTW)

Any Ken vs. Decapre fight is bound to be a slobberknocker. Both characters are at their best from point-blank range, so it’s all about the person who can maintain control once they’re inside. I slug it out here against the 35th highest ranked Ken in the world on PSN in what proved to be a thrilling fight!

Ultra Street Fighter IV battle: Vega (ULikaDaJuice) vs Decapre (jettFTW)

Often overlooked, Vega has become quite a force in Ultra Street Fighter IV. A number of buffs during balancing have made him a formidable foe, and some top Vega players such as PIE| Zeus have been flexing the character’s muscle even before the latest round of balancing. I feel like Vega is at his most popular right now, as I run into Vega players all the time online. ULikaDaJuice was the 37th highest ranked Vega on PSN at the time, which isn’t something to take for granted. He gives me a run for my money in this battle of clawed and masked fighters!

Ultra Street Fighter IV battle: Sagat (buff-sonara) vs Decapre (jettFTW)

Sagat is easily one of Decapre’s worst match-ups. His Tiger Shots can act like a wall keeping the two apart, while his normal attacks can quickly poke her away if she gets too close. This is a classic battle of space control between two characters who excel at opposite ranges.

Ultra Street Fighter IV Omega Mode Guy Combo Video

Guy is a character that I love to use in training mode, though I have no concept of how to use him in a real fight. In Omega Mode, he’s changed quite a bit in ways that give him some more interesting combo options. I put a few out on display here in my latest Omega Mode combo video!
