The world’s biggest and most important fighting game tournament starts today! Since his release as a DLC character in Injustice: Gods Among Us, Scorpion has quickly risen in popularity. This is partially due to him being the most recognizable character from Mortal Kombat, but also because he seems unstoppable. At this point in the game’s life, you’re bound to run into a ton of Scorpion players that are all abusing the same stuff. With this mini guide, you won’t have to just sit there and take a beating from this demon ninja. Instead, give him hell with these tips!
Though I continue to use Bruce Wayne as my main character, I really enjoy Batgirl. She’s super quick, can traverse the screen at will, and has a lot of fun moves. The big challenge I have with her is that her best combo tools – Bab’s Bola and EX Smoke Bomb – add a ton of damage scaling. Until I get a better feel for her, my current bag of tricks doesn’t hit as hard as it should, though it does look pretty.
Inspired by a training session with Ben over at Splitkick, I began exploring The Flash in Injustice: Gods Among Us. With one bar and his trait fully charged, he can pull off some crazy combos through trait cancelling. This video is by no means meant to capture maximum damage or maximum swag, but for me to explore his potential. Check it out!

Shoryuken.com has officially announced that Injustice: Gods Among Us will be officially added to the EVO 2013 lineup. Stage hazards and transitions will be allowed as well.
The recent release of Injustice: Gods Among Us has brought forth a new wave of players immediately flocking towards characters and tactics that some may define as ‘cheap’. As of writing, Deathstroke is a wildly popular character because his gun special moves seem to do a great job at keeping others at bay. Sinestro is also a popular choice, as players early on are struggling to get away from his boulder drop. This has sparked a lot of whining and complaining from others whose only defence is to cry foul.
Yes, I’ve lost to my fair share of Deathstroke and Sinestro players, but this edition of the Universal Fighting Game Guide is not here to chastise these supposed cheapskates. Instead, I want to talk about the phenomenon of day one tactics and why players should spend more time playing instead of whining.

Injustice: Gods Among Us could have done less and still been a winner. Take the awesome Mortal Kombat engine, add DC Comics dudes in it and watch the rave reviews and dollars roll in. Instead, NetherRealm went above and beyond to make Injustice play like a real clash between superheroes. The end result is an enjoyable fighter that feels true to the source material.
