Off-Topic: Adventures in Apartment Hunting Part 1

Dorothy once clicked the heels of her red shoes and said, “There’s no place like home”. For almost a year now, Steff and I have been talking about find our own place that together we could call home. Over the past month or so, we’ve taken the next step and have been actively apartment hunting. It’s been an interesting journey to say the least. After looking through hundreds of apartment listings between the two of us (more her than I to her credit), we booked appointments and made our way out to places we thought we could call home. The results? Click through to find out!

Off Topic: Super Bowl XLVI

Are you ready for some football?

I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not much of a football fan, but I make time every year to watch the big game. This year, I’ll be watching the game from Steff’s place, as she and her sister are hosting a Super Bowl party. I’m looking forward to spending time with good company while watching the New York Giants pummel the New England Patriots*.

Off-Topic: Back From Raptors Centre Court

I’m with Steff at the Toronto Raptors game and I just got back from centre court. I just played in the Cash Machine contest, where I had to catch flying money then hit a 3-pointer to triple my bucks.

Thank you Toronto Raptors! Video coming soon!

Off-Topic: My Night of Watching the Throne

After hours of waiting patiently at our seats, the lights shut off at the Air Canada Centre. From the darkness, an instrumental interlude can be heard emanating from the stage. This alone is enough to send the crowd into a frenzy. I’ve been waiting my whole life for the moment to see Jay-Z and/or Kanye West live in concert, and here I was, seconds away from getting to see them both at the same time. As the lights come on, we see Kanye West and Jay-Z, facing each other from opposing platforms. As their platforms slowly rise, the beat to H.A.M. blares through the sound system. As the crowd cheers in approval, I mutter to myself, “Of all their songs they could have started with, they had to start with the one I hate the most.”

Would that statement be indicative of my feelings towards the rest of the show? Thankfully, no. I watched the throne, and it was a beautiful sight to see.

Off-Topic: Tonight I’m Watching the Throne

My girlfriend Steff and her sister are the best. Over the weekend, they surprised their boyfriends with tickets for them to see Watch the Throne live as early Christmas presents. As a huge fan of Jay-Z and Kanye West, I’m pumped to see them live for the first time. How I’m going to return the favour is beyond me.

For now though, I’ll just enjoy the concert, which is tonight. Anyone else going to tonight’s show, have tickets for a future show or went to a tour stop in the past? Any Jay-Z or Kanye fans here by any chance? Let’s discuss in the comments!

Leaving On A Jet Plane

It’s almost time. In a matter of hours, I’ll be hopping on a plane to London. My suitcase is packed, I’ve got my paperwork ready and my Ambassador Program NES games loaded up on my 3DS.

I’m sorry I didn’t get a chance to scribe my thoughts on Fan Expo. My work between Fan Expo and this trip has been crazy, which has made the act of writing these posts the way I want to impossible. I will say though that the event was fantastic.

If you’ve been horribly disappointed in the lack of content on In Third Person these last few days, fear not my friends. I have a number of posts lined up to run while I’m gone, which will make the site more active than it has been while I’ve been home these last few days. Once I’m back, I’ll get back to the blogging!

Thanks for supporting In Third Person, and stick around while I’m on vacation, as there’s definitely more content for you around the corner! Till I return, I wish you all the best!

Off-Topic Pick-Up Post: 2012 Hyundai Elantra GL

Say hello to my new friend. And just in case you’re wondering, yes, that’s my silhouette at the bottom.

Though I came into this car shopping experience with a sad heart, simply looking for a cheap vehicle to get me from point A to point B, it became a lot more meaningful when I first laid eyes on the 2012 Hyundai Elantra that day in the showroom. It’s combination of sleek styling and a long list of features at a highly competitive price won me over hard. Once I saw that car, it wasn’t about just getting any car. It was about being a baller in that car. I was thinking about that Elantra every day until I finally got my own over the weekend. Should you be interested in my experiences with the vehicle so far, click through to read more!

Off-Topic: Car Shopping

Up until recently, my 2001 Nissan Sentra has been an MVP in my life for many years. While I was in a bit over my head financially when I initially bought it, the investment ultimately paid off. With its help, I was able to get back into the radio industry, decide that I didn’t want to work in that industry anymore, go back to school and land a full-time job in an industry I’m happy with. It also didn’t hurt that having a car has made my relationship with my girlfriend Steff a lot easier, as distance hasn’t played as much of a factor as it could have.

Up until recently, it was fairly reliable too. Unfortunately, due to some core engine problems that make maintaining the car more trouble than its worth, I’m going to have to let it die a pre-mature death. As my Nissan sits motionless in my driveway for another week, I’ve begun my search for a new vehicle.
