Ultra Street Fighter IV battle: Cammy (Lex_Almighty28) vs Rose (jettFTW)

Cammy may not be as popular today as she was during her Arcade Edition heyday, but I still believe that she’s one of the best characters in Ultra Street Fighter IV. In this video, I square off against the #11 Cammy in the world on PSN!

Death By Decapre

Decapre Mix-UpI have to admit that I didn’t expect to get much out of Decapre. Based on her similarities with Cammy and my struggles with using the original Killer Bee, I figured that any time with Decapre would end in disappointment. Don’t want to jinx things, but so far, Decapre is working out much better than expected.

Ultra Street Fighter IV battle: Oni (theunknownclone) vs Akuma (jettFTW)

This fight was far from pretty, but it forced my Akuma to find ways to seal the win against an opponent who was clearly giving me trouble.

Oceania Review

In Oceania, 1-2 players take the high seas in search of new land. Starting with an empty board, players explore this uncharted territory by building the world with randomly-drawn tiles. Along the way, players can place scouts on islands as their bid to take control over them. At the end of the game, the player with control over the most tiles with islands on them wins. Despite its clever design, the game struggles to generate any fun or excitement.

Pandemic: The Cure Review

Pandemic: The CureThrow on your Hazmat suits, kids. The smash-hit board game about curing four deadly diseases before they ravage the world returns as a dice game in Pandemic: The Cure. As such, both games follow the same premise and are similar in many respects. However, making the transition from a board game to a dice game has turned The Cure into a faster and somewhat more casual affair. Hoping that this game will surpass its legendary predecessor may be asking for too much, but does it stand out on its own as a fun and unique take on the tried-and-true formula?

Ultra Street Fighter IV battle: Cody (SupremeCream9000) vs Rose (jettFTW)

I probably should have guarded my chin better against the #10 Cody on PSN.

Excellence of Execution

Decapre cr.MK into HandsClick click clack! Click click clack! Click click clack!

This is the sound that my fightstick makes as I practice Decapre’s crouching medium kick into heavy Rapid Slash combo. It’s only two moves long, and one of those moves can be triggered by simply mashing a single button, yet I’m weeks into my practice and can only land it about 50% of the time against a stationary dummy. What makes this two move combo so difficult?

Ultra Street Fighter IV battle: Dudley (CasterMurdoc) vs Rolento (jettFTW)

Rolento might be a flavour of the month thanks in part to Nemo’s phenomenal play in the tournament scene, but the character clearly has its flaws. In particular, he can get dominated in close by offensive-oriented characters, such as Dudley. Still, I try my best to hang in tough against this highly-ranked opponent.
