Betrayal at House on the Hill Review

Betrayal at House on the Hill starts out like any classic haunted house story. In this 3-6 player board game, your ragtag group of adventures set foot in a mysterious house for the sake of exploration. As they delve deeper into the house, a series of troubling events occur until one big event changes the entire trajectory of the game. From that point forward, it’s a battle for survival, as the remaining adventures try to fend off the traitor and the supernatural beings they command.

For a game with a fairly rigid progression, it has a lot of smart mechanisms to keep things fresh, from a house that randomly generates each time you play, to 50 different scenarios that occur once the betrayer reveals their true colours. I Just Got Home From Fan Expo 2011

Hey Friends,

Sorry for the lack of posts these last few days. I’ve spent most of the last four days enjoying the spoils of Fan Expo 2011 in Toronto. I haven’t even been at my house to sleep most nights, as it’s been more convenient for us to have me crash at Steff’s place.

If you were there, I hope you enjoyed it as thoroughly as Steff, Michelle and I did. It was once again a great event, and moving the location to a larger venue helped make things run so much smoother. I will try my best to document as much of my experiences as I can in the next few days, though my fleeting memory will also be challenged by a looming vacation to London.

I may not be as thorough with my posts as last year, but I’ll be sure to scribe something before I hop on that plane! Take care everyone!
