Out Now: The Nintendo Wii U

The biggest day in video game new releases is here! That is, if you pre-ordered or are standing in line right this second.

The Nintendo Wii U and its gigantic touchscreen controller are destined to be essentially sold out between now and Christmas. With that said, there are probably a bunch of you who got one at a midnight launch, or are in line for one this morning. I pre-ordered mine online, so it won’t arrive for the next few days, but I’m cool with that.

If you’ve got it, tell me what you think! If you don’t, do you have any interest in tracking one down while Wii U hype is at an all-time high?

Rayman Legends Demo Impressions

My initial impressions of the Wii U back in August 2012 were lukewarm. While I approved of the general build quality and feel of the Wii U GamePad, neither Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition or Scribblenauts Unlimited did much to demonstrate what it was really capable of. Recently, I got to get my hands on a demo of Rayman Legends, which is the current showcase game at Wii U demo stations. I Pre-Ordered a Wii U

Wii UAfter months of waiting for release info, Nintendo finally revealed most of it at their September press event. With the launch date and pricing info out there, and pre-orders running out fast at GameStop, I decided to throw my name in the pre-order hat for a deluxe set.

I’m Going to Fan Expo 2012

Canada’s ComicCon North begins this week in Toronto! For the third year in a row, Steff and I have tickets to partake in all four days of Fan Expo. Some of the things I’m excited to see/do at the show include:

Levar Burton. Reading Rainbow for the win! Also, Star Trek.

– ZombiU will be there. Not too hyped about that game, but its presence means the WiiU should be there in some form.

– Buy all sorts of nerdy stuff

– Enjoy the sight of mostly well-done cosplay

– Be one with my fellow nerds

Though I have yet to figure out how I’m going to document our adventures, I’ll think of something. Also, content will continue as scheduled, so don’t worry about a dip in stuff to read.

Not sure if it’s too late to buy tickets, but you can learn more at the Fan Expo Canada website. If you’re coming out, maybe I’ll see you there this weekend!
