“Also, did you know that a spambot reposted our video?”
My brother Randy sent over a screenshot. On the bottom was the listing of our video that I uploaded 13 years ago to my personal YouTube account. Above it, a listing of our video but uploaded by someone else. Even though the illegal rip of my video had only accrued one view in eight months, it’s my legal right to stop the unauthorized distribution of my creative works.
Within minutes, I filed my first DMCA on YouTube. A few days later, YouTube…terminated my account.
One of the most amazing aspects of live streaming is the way in which it brings people together from all over the world. Been fortunate enough to have viewers make a positive impact on the show from the US, Mexico, South Africa, England, France, Australia, Germany, and more. I make it a point to celebrate our cultural differences while bonding over a common love of gaming. Wherever you are, I want you to feel like there’s a place for you here.
Up until this point, we’ve been able to maintain a positive environment with little moderation. However, I was put into a dilemma when an enthusiastic viewer caught me by surprise with a racially-insensitive comment.
My personal highlight at ConBravo 2019 was being able to sit in on the Livestreaming 101 panel with The 8-Bit Drummer, Chatia, Family Jules, and Rabbid Luigi! They provided us with some amazing info on how to take our streams to the next level and we truly appreciate it! For those who couldn’t make it, I captured a bunch of it on video! Hope you enjoy!
