Street Fighter V Final Beta Dhalsim Matches and Impressions

The stretchy master of Yoga has seen some dramatic changes in Street Fighter V. While he gains the ability to float in the air and toss looping fireballs, it comes at the cost of not being able to throw horizontal fireballs without EX. Because of this and his slow normal attacks, Dhalsim seems really vulnerable on the ground, as he appears to not have the tools to keep people out.

Maybe the community will find the optimal way of playing this new iteration of Dhalsim, though I’m scared that he doesn’t have what it takes to hang. Without a steady horizontal fireball and with his normal pokes starting up as slowly as they do, he’s going to have to work extremely hard to keep his distance. I clearly don’t have what it takes, as I spend most of the time in these videos getting bopped. However, I hope the real Street Fighter V Dhalsim players stand up and prove his viability.

Ultra Street Fighter IV battle: Dhalsim (jeetkuendo) vs Decapre (jettFTW)

On paper, Dhalsim should be at an inherent disadvantage against Decapre. However, I got the sense that this is his main character, and in this video I’m still learning the ropes. This was one of the first major tests for my Decapre. Can she hang against this seasoned opponent?

Jett vs. TS Sabin (Arturo Sanchez) in Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition Version 2012

Arturo Sanchez is widely recognized as one of the top Street Fighter IV and Mortal Kombat players in North America. He’s won and placed high in many major tournaments and he also famously beat Daigo in a first-to-five money match back in 2009 during a time when people thought Daigo was invincible. I’ve been a fan of his Dhalsim and Rose pretty much since I first started watching fighting game streams and videos in 2009.

To my surprise, I ran into him on XBOX Live and did not hesitate to match up with him. Idol worship aside, I kind of had a chip on my shoulder going in. He was commentating my match against Chi Rithy at T12, and though I deserved it, I was a bit salty at how badly he clowned me on the stream. Though the deck was heavily stacked against me, did I manage to get in at least a little bit of revenge on TS Sabin?

Jett Vs. – Episode 2: Be Careful Where You Yoga Teleport

Welcome to episode 2 of Jett Vs., a series of blog posts where I post one of my Super Street Fighter IV match videos and analyze it for your viewing and reading pleasure.

This episode features my Rufus against an Italian player’s Dhalsim. Dhalsim can be frustrating to fight against because of his ability to keep opponents away, but I was able to capitalize on some critical mistakes to squeak out a win.
