Metroid Prime 2: Echoes and the Quest to Minimize My Backlog

November 15, 2004. I was in the midst of my first year in college. Was also working a part-time job as a stock boy at a pharmacy. On that day, I bought Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, the sequel to my favourite Metroid game.

November 15, 2018. Exactly 14 years later, and I still haven’t played the game. I don’t remember why I didn’t play it when I bought it, but it only got harder to fit it into my rotation the further away I got.

The Board Game Rotation

Board Game Collection 2014When I first started buying board games, I had this noble thought in my head that I would keep every game I own in a rotation. So Many Games, So Little Time

Along with a bunch of holiday cheer, Santa blessed me with a number of video games to play. As a video game enthusiast, I can’t complain about my loved ones giving me more games to play. I don’t think that part of my gaming habits will ever change.

Unfortunately, other parts of my life have changed dramatically since the days of Super Nintendo games under the Christmas tree. I finished school. I started working. I’m blessed to have a great girlfriend. More and more of my time is going into other aspects of life, which eats away at my video game playing time. Thus is the act of growing up, I guess.
