Tips for Managing Meter in Dragon Ball FighterZ

When it comes to meter, Dragon Ball FighterZ doles it out at a very generous clip. After the first few seconds of the match, it’s pretty easy to go through an entire match while still having stocks to spare. However, I’ve run into no shortage of players that liberally burn their meter during the match, only to find themselves bankrupt when the match is in the balance.

Managing your resources is crucial to your success on the battlefield. Let’s talk about two of the most common wastes of meter that occur in a match and what can be done instead to ensure that you have meter when you need it most!

I won $7.01 in HQ Trivia. This is my story.

For the past few months, I have been an avid HQ-tie. Whether I’m playing with coworkers during the 3PM show or playing the 9PM show with my wife, I’m usually on my phone, answering these trivia questions until I inevitably get one wrong and am eliminated from the game. It seems like answering 12 multiple choice questions would be simple enough, but as my 100+ losses have proven, this is certainly not the case.

However, April 3, 2018 was not such a day. Somehow, some way, I ascended to the top of the mountain and won a game of HQ Trivia.

Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Caught Me By Surprise

When Microsoft announced the inclusion of backwards compatibility into the Xbox One, I shrugged. It seemed to me like a half-hearted retort to Sony rapidly outpacing them in market share, combined with a band-aid solution to Microsoft not having enough exclusive games to make the Xbox One a more appealing product. On top of that, I’m generally not one to spend much time retreading games I’ve previously played or missed at their peak.

Recently though, my Xbox One copy of Far Cry 5 came in the mail, and I fired up the console for the first time in a while. Sitting in my queue were downloads for some awesome Xbox 360 games from my past that I could play right now without having to buy a remaster. It was the first time I really put any thought into the feature and in retrospect, it’s kind of cool.

There are hundreds of games from the Xbox 360 and original Xbox library that you can play right now on your Xbox One. At some point, I do want to make content relating to this “secret” treasure trove of games hiding right under our noses. Stay tuned!

Broly and Bardock Are Now Available For Purchase in Dragon Ball FighterZ!

The first two new combatants are ready to enter the Cell Games in Dragon Ball FighterZ! The legendary Saiyan Broly and Goku’s father Bardock join the fray, as if the game doesn’t already have enough Saiyans in the game. Yes, I would like to see more characters in the game that aren’t like Goku, but these two are notable characters in the lore and some of the most anticipated inclusions. In particular, I’m very curious to see what Broly adds to the game as the title’s first true big body (sorry Android 16).

This is the first pair of characters that make up the set of 8 coming to the game as part of season 1. Still loving this game and I’m excited for it Bandai Namco to continue supporting it!

Quests and Mew Are Being Added to Pokemon Go

The latest update to Pokemon Go gives trainers a new way to play!

Quests are coming to the game in the form of research tasks. Standard Field Research gives you objectives to complete when you spin PokeStops, granting you rewards when you complete them. Special Research are requests that come from Professor Willow himself, which will probably include super special rewards. Beyond receiving items as prizes, Niantic’s post also makes mention of being able to encounter legendary Pokemon, and even the mythical Mew.

Nintendo and Hori Are Releasing a Left Joy-Con With a D-pad

As much as I love my Switch, my biggest gripe with it to-date is the lack of a d-pad on the left-hand side. It’s the reason why I can’t play Ultra Street Fighter II on the go and why I haven’t bought the otherwise excellent Puyo Puyo Tetris. Thankfully, it seems like Nintendo and Hori have heard our prayers, as a left Joy-Con with d-pad is headed to Japan in July, retailing for about $25 US.
