With a few weeks  of practice under my belt, I was able to come up with a more interesting Batman combo video in Injustice: Gods Among Us. Check it out!

WWE All Stars Review

I miss WWF No Mercy on the Nintendo 64.

Hate to be the old man in the room, but its greatness has yet to be surpassed by any wrestling game since. Unfortunately, THQ and the WWE decided to give Yukes exclusive rights to develop their wrestling games; none of which even come close.

WWE All Stars is not the game to do that, nor does it try to be. Instead of trying to be a wrestling ‘simulator’, All Stars is an arcade style slobberknocker that may be the most bombastic wrestling title ever.

Spec Ops: The Line Single Player Review

A massive sandstorm has decimated Dubai. At least one major troupe of American soldiers has tried to evacuate the locals with no luck. With that in mind, the U.S. military sends three Delta operators to check if there’s anyone left to save. What starts out like a pointless jaunt in the desert becomes far more messed up than anyone could have anticipated. Continue reading

Just Dance 4 Review

Have you grown tired of cutting a rug with Ubisoft yet? Based on how well the Just Dance series continues to sell, probably not. Just Dance 4 is the recent main-line entry to the series that’s mostly another one of those. However, for fans of the series, that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Also, the Wii U version that I’m playing has a few console-exclusive perks that may be enough get you back on the dance floor once again.

Injustice: Gods Among Us Review

Injustice: Gods Among Us could have done less and still been a winner. Take the awesome Mortal Kombat engine, add DC Comics dudes in it and watch the rave reviews and dollars roll in. Instead, NetherRealm went above and beyond to make Injustice play like a real clash between superheroes. The end result is an enjoyable fighter that feels true to the source material.

Scratching The Surface of Catwoman in Injustice: Gods Among Us

A few nights ago, I was playing a few games of Injustice: Gods Among Us with Aaron from Splitkick and Jeff, who is a Splitkick community member. Inspired by Jeff’s use of Catwoman that night, I decided to give the character a go. I really love her rushdown style, though I find her execution requirements to be pretty high.

This video isn’t meant to be a definitive list of the best or flashiest Catwoman combos, though they are a few that I came up with that graze some of the more advanced aspects of creating combos with her. Check it out and let me know what you think!

BioShock Infinite Review

The sour taste in my mouth from BioShock 2 washed away within minutes of booting up BioShock Infinite. Unlike its predecessor, which reeked of cash grab from every pore, Infinite feels like a genuine attempt at artistic expression, while pushing the video game boundaries of storytelling and gameplay. This is the sequel I’ve wanted all along and it’s awesome.

An Ode to Rock Band

On one hand, the news of Harmonix’s last round of Rock Band DLC hitting today shouldn’t have stung me as much as it did. I haven’t picked up a plastic instrument in years and had no plans of going back. However, this franchise has left an undeniable mark on my life since its 2007 debut and it’s sad to see the curtains finally close on an old friend.

Check Out My Darkstalkers Resurrection Review on Splitkick.com

Next on the list of fighting game HD ports for Capcom is Darkstalkers Resurrection. This compilation features the second and third games in the series, as well as many of the modern trimmings found in their previous HD ports. Unlike Marvel vs. Capcom: Origins before it, the source material holds up much better and the modern features are really well integrated into the package. I enjoyed this one a lot more than I thought I would.

Three Months Later, Did Rocksmith Really Teach Me How to Play Guitar?

Just over 3 months ago, I got Rocksmith as a Christmas present from Steff. My initial impressions of it were generally positive, though something like this really takes time to pass judgment. Have I made any progress since?
