Street Fighter V Menat Day 1 Live Stream

Late last night, I took an initial test drive of Menat in Street Fighter V. It remains to be seen how good she’ll be in the long run, but so far, she seems to have a ton of potential. That is, if you can come to grips with her myriad of intricacies.

Having made her first appearance in Ed’s story mode as “Fortune Teller”, Menat is finally revealed as the latest playable character in Street Fighter V. As Rose’s apprentice, she appears to have a number of her mentor’s moves, as well as a few tricks of her own. All I can say is….

Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite Story Demo Impressions

Months before its scheduled release, Capcom has given us access to a story mode demo for Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite. Single player content is not what I come to the genre for, but its importance can’t be understated in a world where NetherRealm has raised the bar with the story modes in Mortal Kombat and Injustice. Furthermore, the lack of single player content at launch was a key factor in Street Fighter V failing to win gamers over, causing the game to sell short of Capcom’s expectations. With that in mind, let’s take a look at what we have in Infinite.

Ultra Street Fighter II Review

Street Fighter II is back! Again! For the last time! Yeah, probably not the last time, but whatever.

After a countless number of iterations over the last few decades (!), Capcom rolls out the latest version of its signature fighting game franchise with Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers on the Nintendo Switch. Is this a worthwhile addition to the franchise and to your collection?

TEST STREAM: Street Fighter V on YouTube

Having run a few streams on Twitch has taught me that they don’t offer a built-in archiving solution. While in theory, I could record locally, the reality is that my computer struggles miserably to save video files this large. As such, streams that ran an hour or more would take more than eight hours to save while putting my computer at risk of catching on fire.

YouTube may not be a household name in video game streaming, but it does do the job while offering built-in archiving. Of course, I tested it out with Street Fighter V. Let me know what you think!

Climbing the Fighting Game Leaderboards

Fighting game online leaderboards are not the be-all-end-all measure of a player’s success. For one, there are cheaters out there who will scam their way to the top just to see their names in lights. Also, sitting at the top of any leaderboard doesn’t entitle you to anything when it’s really time to prove your worth at a tournament.

That being said, leaderboard performance matters to me. I use it as a means of not only measuring where I stand against the rest of the world, but measuring my own growth as a player. Furthermore, it acts as motivation to get better, as you can see what lies ahead.
