Concerns about Nintendo 3DS Battery Life

Great battery life has always been a hallmark of Nintendo hand-held systems. The Gameboy, Gameboy Advance and the DS all outpaced their competition by a wide margin. The DSI XL for instance, has a battery life It made it good to know that you won’t have to constantly keep it in the charger or swap batteries every time you wanted to take it on the go.

Then came the Nintendo 3DS.

Ubisoft to Fix Animus Glitch in Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood With Latest Patch

They may be two months late, but Ubisoft finally listened to me. Well, at least to a number of people like me who have been having a number of issues with Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood. On their Facebook page, Ubisoft announced that they’ll be fixing a number of issues with the game, including the Animus glitch that I ran into. All of these fixes will appear in Title Update 3, which doesn’t have a release date yet, but Ubisoft claims will be out very soon.

Sagat Confirmed (and Dee Jay Leaked) for iPhone Street Fighter IV

Capcom keeps on making one of the best iPhone games even better. Recently, they formally announced that Sagat would be making his way to the iPhone version of Street Fighter IV, along with a few system updates. As with the other major updates to this game, Sagat and the other updates will be free of charge.

In the process, they accidently released a picture of an unannounced character. That, or this is a really awesome Photoshop job for a game that people aren’t following that seriously.

Viacom to Sell Harmonix

😦

While I’m by no means a life-long Harmonix fan, I’ve loved them ever since they rocked my world with Guitar Hero II. They’ve consistently made quality music games and supported them with great downloadable content, which puts them head and shoulders above anybody else in the music/rhythm genre. As far as downloadable content goes, no game ever has had better support than the Rock Band franchise. I have easily spent hundreds of hours (and dollars) on their products, and don’t regret any of it.

It looks like my money wasn’t enough to keep their operation going. Viacom, parent company of MTV and Harmonix, has announced that they’re going to sell off the creators of Rock Band and Dance Central.

Panasonic Returns to Gaming With ‘The Jungle’

I saw rumors early yesterday about MTV unveiling a new piece of gaming hardware. Thinking that it would be something on par with the Gizmondo, I didn’t think twice. However, the news of Panasonic jumping back into video games after the flop that was the 3D0 15 years ago really caught me off-guard. This time though, they’re going with a hand-held device tentatively called ‘The Jungle’.

For more details and wild speculation on my part, read on.

Capcom vs. Namco and Namco vs. Capcom Rumors and Speculation

According to a number of hints dropped by Street Fighter creator Yoshinori Ono, Tekken creator Katsuhiro Harada and a report from Game Informer indicate that the game Yoshinori Ono will announce is not just one game, but two. According to Game Informer sources, Capcom is making a Capcom vs. Namco game with the Street Fighter IV engine while Namco is making a Namco vs. Capcom game based on the Tekken 6 engine.

While this sounds exactly like what Capcom and SNK did, the element of 2D vs. 3D makes this a whole new beast.

Welcome Home, Sonic

Sonic has had a hard knock life ever since his heyday on the Genesis. He had a ton of problems transitioning into 3D (which most people say the Sonic games never really pulled off well), he’s been held back by stupid sidekicks, his old games have been shoddily ported to every platform imaginable, his new games have been riddled with gimmicks, and he’s even been subjected to bestiality. Eww.
