Whether he’s stomping on your feet or throwing you across the screen by your head, everything Necalli does is fierce. So fierce, he’d scare Tyra Banks. Sorry, couldn’t resist. Stubby normals aside, he’s a lot of fun to play as!

Street Fighter V Beta Rashid Matches Part 2
Street Fighter V Beta R. Mika Matches Part 1
Generally considered to be a weak character in Street Fighter Alpha 3, R. Mika appears to pack quite the punch in Street Fighter V. Though I definitely don’t do the character justice, I hope that her potential shines through in this video and the others to come!
Street Fighter V Beta Karin Matches Part 1
Karin is one of the most complex characters in Street Fighter V. All of her special moves have branching paths, allowing her to open up her opponent, even if they block the first hit. I didn’t get enough time to fully grasp her play style, nor did I get enough to finish a combo video, but I did get some matches in. In this first set, I got particularly lucky with mashing out her V-Trigger move and Critical Art.
Street Fighter V Beta R. Mika Impressions

Having stood on the sidelines since her debut in Street Fighter Alpha 3, R. Mika returns in Street Fighter V. As a wrestler, her arsenal of moves would surely make Hulk Hogan proud. She also didn’t come to this fight alone, as her tag team partner Nadeshiko swoops in from time-to-time to lend a helping hand (or butt). Does she have what it takes to make a run at the championship belt?

Street Fighter V Laura Matches Part 1
Don’t let Laura’s pretty looks and simplistic fighting style fool you. She may not have the combo potential of some of the other fighters on the Street Fighter V cast, but when she hits, she hits hard. In early matches like these ones, I’m still trying to get a feel for what she’s capable of. By the end of my time with her in the stress test, I was performing much better and really enjoying her as a character.
Street Fighter V Beta Ken Matches Part 1
Ken Masters enters Street Fighter V in a dramatically different state. While he still of the same general archetype as Ryu, he’s been tuned in a way that makes him a much more aggressive-minded fighter than ever. Tune in to watch me come to grips with Ken’s new tools!
Gaming and the Weak Canadian Dollar
A few years ago, the Canadian dollar began taking a tumble in terms of value. I’m not going to try and explain why, as the economics behind the values of each currency mystify me. However, it’s impact on video games has been abundantly clear. For a good stretch of time, the standard price of a disc-based game was $60. Last year, that crept up to $70. Now, $80 is the new norm. This might not even be the end of the increases, as the Canadian dollar shows no signs of improving in the immediate future.
Street Fighter V Beta Rashid Matches Part 1
This marks the beginning of my match videos that I recorded during my limited time with the beta. Of the characters, I got the most time in with Rashid, so there will be more to come. That said, none of these videos will feature high level play, as I myself was more interested in exploring the game rather than being the best at it, but these are good to get a sense of what’s to come. Enjoy!
The Second Street Fighter V Beta Begins Today

For players who have pre-ordered Street Fighter V, the second beta starts today. It’ll start at 9PM EST tonight and end on Sunday, October 25th at 7PM EST. This new beta will feature PS4/PC cross-platform play and a more robust suite of online features. Most important for me is the completely different roster this time around. Ryu, Cammy, Chun-Li, Birdie, Nash and M. Bison will be taking a break, as Ken, Necalli, Vega, R. Mika, Rashid and Karin star in this go-around.
