When I have heavy thoughts in my mind or weighty emotions in my heart, I handle them by letting it out. Good or bad, I need to get that energy out of my system to stay sane. More than anything else, In Third Person is my mental and emotional release valve.
For me, the most recent streams were more than just an a means of flexing my block-stacking prowess or continuing a friendly rivalry. It was an opportunity to open up about my feelings regarding the current state of the world.
Whoops! A colossal error leads to one of my worst Tetris 99 performances ever! In between a win and at least one embarrassing loss, I review the Sonic the Hedgehog movie, we discuss what a Smash Bros. cinematic universe would look like, and share our concerns over the Coronavirus!

We also talk a bunch about the major Pokemon Direct announcements, including the revelation that 200 previously-cut Pokemon will make their return as part of the DLC. As for Tetris, we bookend the show with a pair of wins! The last one in particular was a real fight!

These last few weeks have been really tough for the stream as I struggle to find ways to re-stabilize my image quality. However, with the use of a VPN, this show was a much better viewing experience! Besides stacking blocks in Tetris 99 and securing at least one win before signing off, I share my experience having just done the Mansions of Madness escape room, weird dreams, and that time I temporarily lost the use of a limb!

Though I’ve been playing Tetris since the days of the NES and Game Boy, I got good playing the modern versions of Tetris, such as Tetris DS, Puyo Puyo Tetris, Tetris Effect, and Tetris 99. Over the years, Tetris has made a lot of mechanical changes to its core formula that you might have missed, making NES Tetris a very different beast. Do my modern skills translate to classic Tetris? Am I ready for the CTWC Classic Tetris World Championships? Let’s find out together!

We play a lot of Tetris 99 here at In Third Person, but we still have love for classic Tetris on the NES! While I recorded this for part of a bigger project, I wanted to share this as a taste of what’s to come! Do you think I’m ready for the CTWC Classic Tetris World Championships?

For the better half of 2019, the internal debate of what my game of the year would be raged on. It came down to two titles. One was a game that made some bold moves but didn’t quite stick the landing on everything it had to offer. The other was a tighter package overall, but was far less ambitious.
How do I rationalize between the two? There’s no right answer, as both games are fantastic. In this case, I looked past that conflict and dug deep into my soul for an answer. When I was in the thick of it, which game drew the largest emotional response from me? And when I look back at 2019, what’s the game that I’ll remember the most fondly?
