The original Killer Bee is a force to be reckoned with in Omega Mode. Some of her big changes include a new special move that launches opponents into the air, a heavily-reworked Spin Knuckle and the ability to cancel a jumping attack on hit into a dive kick. I really liked the way in which her tweaks expanding her combo options, which I explore in this video!
Cool Stuff Inc. and The Dice Tower Release Their List of the Best Selling Board Games in 2014
With video games in North America, we get to see how well the top 10 video games each month are selling thanks to the NPD reports. Board games don’t get that level of tracking, at least publicly. Thanks to Cool Stuff Inc. and the Dice Tower though, Cool Stuff Inc. has released their list of the top 20 selling games of 2014. Sure, there are a few caveats to consider when analyzing this data, such as the fact that the consumer base is primarily of the hardcore board gamer variety, but it’s still a great glimpse into how well certain games are selling. The Amiibo Collecting Struggle is Real
Collecting is a choice, not a right. When people get upset about the challenges that come with collecting Amiibos – myself included – it’s important to remember that. However, I do find the act of trying to buy Amiibos in this current marketplace to be particularly difficult and somewhat unreasonable.
Pick-Up Post: Boxing Day 2015 Edition
Black Friday is quickly gaining popularity as a premier day for shopping in Canada, though Boxing Day is still the king. Though I have a tendency of making it rain on this day, my shopping list was surprisingly small this year. Maybe I didn’t get the volume of year’s past, but I think I got a solid crop of goodies at more reasonable prices!

Ultra Street Fighter IV battle: Rose (Kirkham97) vs Poison (jettFTW)
Aside from my big 3, Poison is the character that I’ve been pouring the most time into. In general, I’ve been playing well, but in general, playing as her hasn’t been much fun. That said, this set of matches with Kirkham97 so far have been my favourite. We engage in an all-out slugfest within these two matches that were filled with drama. GG Kirkham97!
Amiibo Story: Pit
Some of my earliest memories of gaming involve Kid Icarus. Not so much the actual playing of the game, but the hype surrounding it. In talks with other kids who were into Nintendo, Kid Icarus was thrown out there as being one of those marquee titles along with the likes of Mario and The Legend of Zelda. Heck, even Pit was a key sidekick in Captain N: The Game Master.
However, at the time, I didn’t understand the hype. I didn’t like that game as a kid and I still don’t like it now. Years later though, Pit would win me over with one of my all-time favourite Nintendo 3DS games.

I try my best to show off some of the new changes within the context of a real fight with mixed results. At a certain point, my opponent gets too good, so I switch to playing serious. Also, I got someone to rage quit!
Ultra Street Fighter IV battle: Oni (Galeoflight) vs Hugo (jettFTW)
Big-bodied characters have never been a strong suit of mine in any fighting game. That didn’t stop me though from playing a few matches with Hugo in my down time. I know this is far from a stellar match, though it’s a glimpse at what I can/can’t do with Street Fighter‘s biggest behemoth.
Underneath My Christmas Tree: 2014 Edition
Hoping you all had a blast this holiday season! For me, it was great to spend a lot of time with my family. Got to spread the joy of board games with my younger cousins by giving them a copy of King of Tokyo, which they loved. Got to spend Christmas day with Steff’s dad’s side of the family; a first for me after all of these years. Best of all, our schedules worked out in a way where Steff and I didn’t have to split up in order to visit all of our respective families.
I may be getting up there in age, though that didn’t stop my loved ones from spoiling me. Hopefully my gifts, love and Christmas cheer were enough to reciprocate, because I definitely got hooked up! This post highlights the stuff that is relevant to the site, though I’m also appreciative of the t-shirts, socks, ties, and Taylor Swift concert tickets (!!!) I got as well. Now let’s look at the goods!
