With XCOM 2 in the books, it’s time to move onto the next game in my queue: Gears of War 4. While I was a huge fan of the original trilogy, Gears of War: Judgment left a bad taste in my mouth. Thankfully, it sounds like Microsoft has righted the ship on this one. Will have some thoughts on the game and maybe some video soon!

Splatoon Review

It’s cute! It’s colourful! It’s…the next big shooter? Splatoon for the Wii U dares to mix things up in a genre where most are still copying from the Call of Duty playbook. In fact, Nintendo’s newest entry into the genre strays so far from the norm that shooting other people isn’t your primary objective. As crazy as that may sound, it works surprisingly well here.
Jett Plays Splatoon Global Testfire
I get my bearings in this first beta for Nintendo’s latest. It doesn’t come through in the video, but once I got a hang of it, I had a blast! Can’t wait to play the final product!
Tripping Out with Child of Eden

For my brother’s birthday, I got him a copy of Child of Eden. He’s a big fan of the music and rhythm game genre, and he did enjoy Rez. I on the other hand, fell out of the music game genre pretty hard with the crash of the plastic instrument scene, and couldn’t tell you anything about Rez other than the fact that you could get a vibrator with it.
Going into Child of Eden, I had no idea what to expect. Having just finished two out of the five levels in the game, I not even sure what it was I just played.
Pick Up Post – Sin and Punishment: Star Successor

Did you ever play the original Sin & Punishment? Unless you’re from Japan, imported a copy of the Nintendo 64 game or bought it on the Virtual Console, probably not. It’s a Treasure-developed shooter that’s sort of like StarFox or Panzer Dragoon. It never made it anywhere outside of Japan until it hit the Virtual Console, which was a shame, because that game was awesome. I loved every minute of it when I played it on Virtual Console, even though I was over 10 years late to the party.
To my surprise, Nintendo green-lit a sequel to that game for the Wii last year. Despite the positive reviews, the lack of marketing support and overall weirdness of the game doomed it to sales mediocrity.
