That’s The Sound of My Wallet Caving For Disney Infinity

Up until recently, I’ve been fairly dismissive of Disney Infinity. Not to say that I didn’t care, as I enjoy both Disney and Skylanders. However, I didn’t put in any time to look into what this was. I simply assumed it would be a more expensive version of Activision’s toy juggernaut. Upon further investigation, this actually looks really cool and unique.

First off, thank you to everyone that has supported In Third Person by making a purchase through the Amazon-powered store. Your support is truly appreciated. I also hope you picked up something totally awesome in the process!

If you haven’t been to the store before, it’s never too late to check it out. While you’re able to buy any video games that Amazon sells through the store, I’d recommend checking out the Jett’s Picks section, which has a list of games I played since opening the store and thought were awesome. There’s little blurbs to accompany each game, though I’m pretty sure that every game has (or will have) a review on the site for more detail. Hopefully, you’ll enjoy these games as much as I did.

Out Now – Injustice: Gods Among Us

The Mortal Kombat reboot was a pleasant surprise to me. I was mostly expecting a fighter that was a beginner-friendly button masher like its early 90s predecessors, but it was a genuine beast under the hood. I loved exploring the game’s mechanics and combo system and figuring out all of the cool things I could do as a Kitana player. Admittedly, it didn’t quite end up cracking my regular fighting game rotation, but I had a blast with it every time I played it.

Thanks to that positive experience with MK, it didn’t take much to sell me on Injustice: Gods Among Us.

Dollars and Sense

Though I am far from rich, money historically hasn’t been much of an issue when it comes to my gaming related purchases. Sure, I couldn’t afford to buy every single game I’ve ever wanted brand new, but I’ve been able to buy virtually every game I’ve ever wanted since I started working over a decade ago. Even as a teenager making minimum wage as a stock boy, I had room in my budget for hot new releases or games I passed on initially that have dropped in price.

This year, while in the midst of planning for Steff and I’s move, I had an epiphany: I can’t keep spending like this anymore.

Pick-Up Post: Boxing Day 2012

As a Canadian, Boxing Day is one of the most wonderful times of the year for video game shopping. This year was highly eventful, as a bunch of games I’ve been itching to get my hands on went on sale. Below is my list of gaming related purchases. What did you get this Boxing Day?

2012 Year in Review: In Third Person X Amazon

At the beginning of 2012, I rolled out the Amazon affiliate program onto In Third Person. While I don’t do this for a living, and I know that people hate advertising, but it’s a means of compensation for all of the work I do for the site. At the very least, I’ve tried to implement it in a way where it makes things easier for you to buy what you were interested in purchasing anyway. Due to technological limitations with Amazon and WordPress, my implementation of it isn’t that great. With that said, I’m surprised (and thankful) for how much stuff you’ve purchased. In case you’re interested, most users bought fightsticks, though the variety of gaming stuff purchased was pretty interesting.

Going into next year, how would you like to see this improve? Would love to hear your feedback!
