One of the last great games stranded on the Wii U, Super Mario 3D World finally makes the jump to the Nintendo Switch. As with other Nintendo has included some extras to sweeten the deal. This time, we’re getting online multiplayer, a small chunk of new content that plays wildly different from the main game, and more.
Even with the added extras, is Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury worth picking up, especially if you’re one of the few who bought it on the Wii U?
Desperate times call for desperate solutions! During the final stretch of Bowser’s Fury, I come up with some…outside-the-box solutions for getting some of the tougher Cat Shines in the game! We also discuss video games being adapted to board games (such as Stardew Valley) and my latest anime glass art!

Bowser’s Fury is odd. Despite being packed in with Super Mario 3D World on the Nintendo Switch, Bowser’s Fury shares little relation beyond its protagonist and antagonist. Gone is the four-player co-op and linear level design. Heck, Bowser’s Fury doesn’t quite fit with anything in the Super Mario universe…and that’s what makes it fascinating.
Bowser is BIG mad! Corrupted by goop, Bowser Jr. turns to Mario in hopes that he can free Bowser from this demonic spell! During this session, I play both Super Mario 3D World and Bowser’s Fury!

Two Super Mario games for the price of one! We start the stream by closing out New Super Mario Bros. U once and for all. Then we play a little bit of Super Mario 3D World! During the stream, we also discuss our picks for best and worst Super Mario power-ups!
As it stands, the Wii U will go down in history as Nintendo’s biggest home console flop. Confusing hardware, poor messaging and continued lack of third party support sunk this one from the start. That being said, there were still a number of games worth playing on the Wii U. In no particular order, here’s a list of my favourites.
It’s easy to dismiss the Wii U. Compared to the Xbox One or the PlayStation 4, the Wii U lacks horsepower to pump out the best graphics. It also featuring an unusual tablet controller. On top of that, Nintendo has a myriad of perception problems to fight in terms of hardcore gamers who still write off Nintendo as a company that produces products for kids, to the casual crowd who doesn’t know what a Wii U is, to the scorned Nintendo fan who thought that the Wii was a disappointment.
I don’t blame anyone for having grievances with Nintendo or concerns with the Wii U. However, while the world continues to buzz about its competition, I think the Wii U currently delivers the best bang for your buck. It’s placing on the totem pole will likely change with time, though the benefits that come with owning one are already well worth it and should pay dividends in the future. Here’s 6 reasons why you should buy a Wii U today!
