Speaking with my brother over Discord as we were playing Rogue Company, we were struggling to find the enjoyment out of this tactical shooter developed by Hi-Rez Studios. Hours of play in the game’s more competitive-focused Demolition and Extraction modes, we took great issue with the pace of play.

Almost ready to give up on the game entirely, we tried out the game’s final mode: Strikeout. After an hour or so of competing in this mode, we almost did a complete about face on the entire game.

Create Your Own Tetris 99 or General Chat Countdown Timer with LioranBoard

As a regular Tetris 99 streamer who plays with viewers, it can be a real struggle for us to join the same lobby. With no game or system-level party system to speak of, players only hope of matching is to queue up at the exact same time. Simply counting down with your voice doesn’t work, as Twitch delay can be upwards of 20 seconds depending on which device the viewer is watching on.

Some players have suggested that I try managing the countdown with a bot. Recently, I saw a Tetris 99 streamer using a bot in action. Then I realized that I have the tech to make my own!

How-to Safely Transfer Your Animal Crossing: New Horizons Island to a New Nintendo Switch

Transferring your Animal Crossing: New Horizons island from one Nintendo Switch to another is…not the easiest process. In order to minimize the potential for cheating, Nintendo has implemented some rigid restrictions into the game. The biggest of which is that players can only have one island per Switch and that islands can’t be easily transferred between consoles.

As Steff was awaiting for the arrival of her new Switch Lite, I scrambled to find a way for us to transfer our island to her Switch. Based on the little information online, I got a lot of conflicting messages and couldn’t find a solid answer on how to do it. Some guides even suggested lying on the phone with Nintendo in order to get them to do it!

Unboxing the HyperX Cloud Alpha S Gaming Headset

Rest in peace to my old gaming headset. Held together with electrical tape, they’ve been on life support for some time. Once the left ear cup fell off and the sound stopped coming out of it, I knew it was time to let them go. Thank you for your service.

With the amount of time I used that headset for gaming and streaming, I figured now was a great time to upgrade to a higher-quality set. Thanks to Amazon Prime Day, I was able to get the HyperX Cloud Alpha S gaming headset. Let’s crack this box open!

Elgato Stream Deck XL Review

In the wake of the Elgato Stream Deck, stream controllers have become a popular addition to one’s setup. They allow streamers to seamlessly manage their shows in ways that aren’t as efficient as one could manage with hot keys or a mouse.

Despite the initial sticker shock for what amounts to “just” 15 buttons at face value, my Stream Deck has proven its worth many times over. From scene changes, to managing voice changers, to complex event sequences triggered by a single button, my shows wouldn’t be the same without it.

Though the standard set of 15 buttons should suffice for most, I’ve long since run out of space due to my production-heavy shows. Folders allow me to squeeze in a few more actions, but most activities require me to cycle between menus with extra presses, negating some of the device’s convenience. For streamers like me who are in need of even more control, the Stream Deck XL has us covered.

Having Issues Streaming Retro Games With a 4:3 Aspect Ratio on Twitch? Try This Overlay Design Trick in OBS!

In a world where 16:9 is the norm, retro games created with the old 4:3 aspect ratio can be a pain to stream. Having to fit a square gameplay feed into a rectangle overlay leads to a lot of empty space, forcing streamers to create overlays specific to retro gaming.
