My Hopes and Dreams for E3 2019

Following E3 this year is going to be difficult for me. I’ll be out in London for its entirety and my internet access will be sporadic. Besides, as much as love to devour the hottest in gaming news, I’m not going to put Steff and I’s lives on hold when we could be enjoying everything London has to offer.

Though I’ll be slow to take to the news, here are a few things I’m hoping to see come to fruition at this year’s event!

Fresh Games for My European Travels

With London, Paris, figuring out how to watch the rest of the NBA Finals while in Europe, and a date with the Spice Girls at Wembley Stadium ahead of me, the last thing I should be concerned about is what games I’ll be playing for the next few weeks. Odds are, I won’t have much of any time to play stuff. And that’s for the best! I’m excited to explore new parts of London and England that I didn’t get to last time, while immersing myself in a whole new world in Paris.

And yet, here I am, making preparations to ensure that I have something fresh to play during the flights, trains, and whatever little down time we have. Partially cause those moments of down time could be great for trying something new while giving me more things to write about. But mostly because I have the attention span of a peanut and require constant mental stimulation.

In light of the circumstances, this list is comprised entirely of Nintendo Switch titles. It’s also a little price-conscious, as this adventure has already proven to be a pricey one before we’ve even stepped on a plane.

Tetris 99 and the Notion of Streaming Only One Game

There are real advantages to only streaming one video game. Doing so makes it easier for you to attract and maintain an audience that loves that game. Ninja’s fans love him as a skilled player and as an on-screen personality, but they also love Fortnite and can count on him streaming it daily. As much as I would love his money and at least some of his fame, I struggle to wrap my head around how and other single-game streamers keep their sanity playing only one game for that long.

Being a variety streamer can help you stay sane. Streaming games as they move in and out of my life is a more natural way for me to play games and the approach I’ve planned on taking from the start. However, I lose the stability that comes with streaming only one game. I even see this phenomenon with my own small stream, where certain viewers only tune in for Overwatch and others only drop by for Paper Mario. Can’t blame people for wanting to watch games they like, versus sticking with me regardless of what game I’m playing.

In spite of my vow to not get monogamous with any one game, the thought of getting steady with Tetris 99 heats up every time I stream that game.
