Though I’ve never been formally against viewers playing games with me on stream, I officially open the gates for this Tetris 99 stream! Thanks for the games everyone! While we compete for the #1 spot, we discuss my recent experience throwing axes, share my most recent Pokemon plushie addition, and I die inside as I literally delete the stream during the middle of the show!

From its origins on PC, to Tetris 99 on the Nintendo Switch, there are countless versions of classic Tetris out there. Odds are, the Tetris Company will continue to iterate on the traditional Tetris formula until the end of time. However, there have been a number of offshoot puzzle games that don’t play like Tetris, but bear the name anyway. Let’s take a look back at a trio of these: Tetris 2, Tetris Attack, and Tetrisphere!

At long last, the Tetris Effect soundtrack soundtrack is finally seeing the light of day. Limited Run Games gets the honours, releasing the music as part of a 5-LP bundle along with a digital download code. Pre-orders begin on November 22, 2019. You can also invest in a limited edition print of the game with a reversible cover and special gold foil highlights.
With Pokemon Sword and Shield on the horizon, it’s time to unlock the Pokemon theme in Tetris 99 as part of the Maximus Cup! While we play to be the very best (like no one ever was), I share some Tetris tips, the recent story of how I got to see the NBA championship trophy in real life, and the importance of using gaming as a platform for making a positive change on the world!

As if participating in a 25-hour marathon wasn’t difficult enough, the Extra Life site struggled to stay online due to multiple DDoS attacks. Even so, we powered through and raised $1,218 for the Children’s Miracle Network of Hospitals. Simply amazing!

Before Tetris exploded in popularity on the Game Boy, Sega made their own arcade version of the legendary block stacker. From what I gather, a port of this title for the Sega Genesis was in the works before being canned. I’ve also heard that Sega’s arcade version was well-regarded during its time. Finally, it’s arrived as part of the Sega Genesis Mini. Was it worth the wait?
