Though I continue to use Bruce Wayne as my main character, I really enjoy Batgirl. She’s super quick, can traverse the screen at will, and has a lot of fun moves. The big challenge I have with her is that her best combo tools – Bab’s Bola and EX Smoke Bomb – add a ton of damage scaling. Until I get a better feel for her, my current bag of tricks doesn’t hit as hard as it should, though it does look pretty.

The Recurring Bosscast: 017 – Brotherly Love And The Super Nintendo
“Why can’t Metroid Crawl?” is the jumping off point for our Super Nintendo retrospective episode. We reminisce on some of our favorite games, how the console brought us together with our respective brothers and how the TurboGrapfx-16 forever scarred Jett’s relationship with his parents.

Dark Souls Impressions

At this point, Dark Souls is viewed upon as legendary among the gaming community for it’s unapologetic difficulty. Taking heavy cues from action and adventure games of yesteryear, it brutally punishes mistakes and is a rather obtuse experience to comprehend. With virtually no context given, the game gives you a key to free yourself from your cell and it’s essentially up to you to figure out the rest.
This style of game is generally not my thing. Even as a child, my tolerance for difficulty was relatively low. However, it’s crossed that point where as a gaming enthusiast, I just have to play it in order to experience first hand what everyone’s been talking about. Also, I started playing ZombiU, which many people say takes influence from Dark Souls, and I didn’t have that experience under my belt to say otherwise. Did I make it out alive?
Injustice: Gods Among Us The Flash Combo Video
Inspired by a training session with Ben over at Splitkick, I began exploring The Flash in Injustice: Gods Among Us. With one bar and his trait fully charged, he can pull off some crazy combos through trait cancelling. This video is by no means meant to capture maximum damage or maximum swag, but for me to explore his potential. Check it out!
The Recurring Bosscast: 016 – Xbox One Reveal and Dog of Duty: Bark Ops

Though it’s too early to pass judgment on the Xbox One, the big reveal didn’t earn much in the way of good will from the Bosscast. Listen to us air our grievances about the new console and gush about the lead canine in Call of Duty: Ghosts.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Review

Ever since my subpar experience with Call of Duty: World at War, I’ve had a chip on my shoulder against Treyarch. To me, they’ve been the B-team that made filler titles while Infinity Ward crafted the games people really wanted to play. Though this perception among the Call of Duty enthusiasts washed away with the release of Black Ops, I coincidentally stopped playing the series just before then. In a Black Ops II world, I only now finished the campaign of the original.

With a few weeks  of practice under my belt, I was able to come up with a more interesting Batman combo video in Injustice: Gods Among Us. Check it out!

WWE All Stars Review

I miss WWF No Mercy on the Nintendo 64.
Hate to be the old man in the room, but its greatness has yet to be surpassed by any wrestling game since. Unfortunately, THQ and the WWE decided to give Yukes exclusive rights to develop their wrestling games; none of which even come close.
WWE All Stars is not the game to do that, nor does it try to be. Instead of trying to be a wrestling ‘simulator’, All Stars is an arcade style slobberknocker that may be the most bombastic wrestling title ever.
The Recurring Bosscast: 015 – Jason and Jett Do Vegas
Jason and Jett enjoyed a Vegas weekend filled with exfoliation, chicken and waffles, and Topanga sightings. Also, Dead Island: Riptide opens the door for a discussion about disappointing sequels.

How To Beat Deathstroke In Injustice: Gods Among Us

“Aw crap. Another Deathstroke player.”
This assassin-for-hire immediately became public enemy #1 upon the release of Injustice: Gods Among Us. Players of all sorts are crying foul over his seemingly cheap tactics. Instead of sending your Deathstroke-playing opponent whiny hate messages when you lose, why not take the beating to him instead? In this post, I’ll outline a few strategies and tactics you can use to subdue him once and for all.
