Though I’ve been playing Tetris since the days of the NES and Game Boy, I got good playing the modern versions of Tetris, such as Tetris DS, Puyo Puyo Tetris, Tetris Effect, and Tetris 99. Over the years, Tetris has made a lot of mechanical changes to its core formula that you might have missed, making NES Tetris a very different beast. Do my modern skills translate to classic Tetris? Am I ready for the CTWC Classic Tetris World Championships? Let’s find out together!
I think I took a big step forward with this video in terms of concept and execution. It’s not perfect, but I’m really glad with how it turned out. Hope you enjoy!
Fantasy Strike by Sirlin Games is a video game based on a card game inspired by a video game. You still following?
Yomi, the card game that is the source material Fantasy Strike is based on, is one of my all-time favourite tabletop gaming experiences for how well it translates the thrill of playing a fighting game into a tabletop experience. Does Fantasy Strike bring the whole thing full-circle as a compelling video game?
Tetris 99 is awesome and only getting better. Even so, there’s room for improvement. Here’s what I want to see in future updates to Tetris 99! What would you like to see in future updates to the game?
In this silver age of fighting games, independent developers have been able to find their footing in the scene. From the silly Divekick to the visually-stunning and mechanically-deep Skullgirls, these games have received critical acclaim, sold well, and established their own communities. They may not have the name recognition as some of the AAA titans in the genre, but a number of indie fighters have proven to be worthy alternatives.
So far, I’ve sampled five indie fighters on the Nintendo Switch. Here’s how I rank them from worst-to-best!
Unleash the beast! In one memorable game, I decimate an opposing team on three separate occasions with perfectly-placed Dragonstrike shots! That said, I spend time playing tanks and support as well. Meanwhile, we have some engaging conversations about our predictions for the next decade, tips for streaming success, and how our first names have impacted our lives.

While we know very little about the titles coming out for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox, we do know of many big games set to act as the last hurrah for the current generation of consoles. Outside of Sony and Microsoft, Nintendo is likely to continue its Switch-fueled hot streak.
Though the year has just begun and we still don’t know much about what the world of gaming has in store, it’s never too early to geek out over the projects we’re aware of. Here’s a look at the games I’m geeking out for this year!
Konami’s classic run-and-gun has some stiff competition from Blazing Chrome! This indie alternative features the same type of break-neck thrills with a few new twists of its own. While we attempt to overthrow our machine overlords, we discuss our favourite movies of 2019, debate whether Detective Pikachu is the first good video game movie, and I find out there’s a new way to make a heart with your fingers!

This stream was not part of the original plan. However, with a bunch of new equipment in need of testing, I decided to hop on in the middle of the night and play some Fantasy Strike! I mess around with Argagarg and DeGrey, while also playing a few online matches with Grave and Rook. Hoping you enjoy the FPS boost and we’ll see if I can bump the bitrate back up for a sharper image!
