I’ve been buying board games on iOS since the launch of the app store. However, my collection of board games consists of mainstream titles like Monopoly, Scrabble and Trivial Pursuit. Now that I’ve expanded my horizons when it comes to physical board games, it’s about time that I revamp my iOS collection as well. First on my new list is Ticket to Ride; a personal favourite of mine.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown on iPhone Impressions
2K raised some eyebrows (mine included) when they announced a port of XCOM: Enemy Unknown for iOS. I love that game, but how the heck were they going to make it work on those devices? Well after the fact, I found out that it works pretty well.
Decapre Revealed as the Final Ultra Street Fighter IV Character
After months of teasing and speculation, Capcom has finally revealed the final character that will make her debut in Ultra Street Fighter IV later this year. Decapre, who is one of M. Bison’s Dolls, is a clone of Cammy. Well, they’re technically all clones of the same thing, but yes, this is all part of the existing Street Fighter mythology and not just a cheap way to get another character in the game (though that’s probably also the case).
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Impressions
Ubisoft’s historical tale of guys shanking other guys continues to be wildly popular, though my interest in it has been in decline for years. After the series peaked during the ACII/AC Brotherhood era, they followed them up with two clunkers in Revelations and III. I had no interest in playing IV at all, but because of all the positive buzz surrounding this latest installment, a trade-in credit burning a hole in my pocket and a thirst for quality PS4 games to play, I gave it a shot.

The Greatest Bits Returns With A New Street Fighter II Tribute Album
After a long hiatus, friend of the site The Greatest Bits returns with a Street Fighter II tribute album.
Capcom’s legendary fighter also contains some of the most iconic video game music of all-time. Each stage theme perfectly captures the personalities of each character and the on-screen action. The Greatest Bits sent me a copy of this album to listen to and I think this features some his best work yet.

After a hilarious 4-player Formula D session filled with collisions, reckless driving and driving movie jokes, a light bulb went off in my head. I said out loud, “Couldn’t we make a Mario Kart version of Formula D?” The answer from the group was, “Yes.” Though we packed up the game after that and moved on with our lives, I’ve been thinking through the logistics of creating a Mario Kart variant ever since.
