Changes I Want to See in Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition

Capcom has taken a lot of heat for the incomplete state Street Fighter V launched in. To their credit, they’ve put in a lot of work post-launch to get the game into a better position. On top of that, they’ve done a tremendous job on the eSports side of things to make it the premier fighter on that front.

Still, the game, even in its current state, has left a sour taste in the mouths of many. With a major Arcade Edition on the way, here’s what I hope would be included, even if the likelihood of these suggestions coming to fruition is slim!

Rocket League on the Nintendo Switch Review

First released on the PC and PlayStation 4 in 2015, Rocket League has been a breakout hit. Beyond being a best-seller on every platform its been on, this vehicular soccer game has found a second wind as an eSports title. With the title showing no signs of slowing down, it blasts onto the Nintendo Switch with cross-platform play and some Nintendo exclusive cars.

Valkyria Chronicles 4 Coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch

Sega’s innovative strategy series Valkyria Chronicles is getting a new sequel. Unlike the poorly-received spin-off that came out recently, Valkyria Chronicles 4 marks a return of the franchise’s unique blend of turn-based strategy and third-person combat. While I never finished the first game, I really enjoyed what I played of it. With it coming out to the Switch, I think I would prefer to play this on that device, as I would gladly sacrifice some graphical fidelity in exchange for the convenience of the platform. Being able to play a meaty strategy game on my commute would be perfect. Looking forward to playing this one in 2018!

Rock Band: 10 Years Later

rockband_01-56a7373f3df78cf772935f67

On this day in 2007, the original Rock Band was unleashed on the world. Having been anxiously awaiting for that day for quite some time, I rushed into EB Games to pick up my band set. The journey I would go on with that series is one that left an indelible imprint on my life. It’s also one that I struggle to see myself coming back to in a meaningful way.

Golf Story Review

Mario Golf on the Gameboy Color did something very cool that pretty much every other entry in the series has overlooked. More than just a golf game, it incorporated story and role-playing elements as a means of spicing things up. During my time with that game, I felt truly invested in the trials and tribulations of an aspiring golfer trying to become the Mushroom Kingdom champion due to having an impact on my character’s story arc and development of his abilities. Almost two decades later, Sidebar Games picks up the torch on the golf RPG concept with Golf Story and runs with it.

ARMS v.4.0 Out Now Featuring a New Character and More

Nintendo Switch owners are likely still busy with Super Mario Odyssey, but ARMS continues to truck along in the background with version 4.0 available now. This update brings in a new mode, a new arm attribute, and a new character named Misango. This Aztec warrior has cool scorpion gloves, and some weird special abilities with the mask. It’s been a bit since I played the game but I’m ready to jump in and try this guy out!
