Unboxing the Qanba Q4 RAF Fightstick

The Qanba Q4 RAF is one of the most sought-after fightsticks on the market for its ability to work with the XBOX 360, PlayStation 3 and PC right out of the box. If you have fighting games across multiple systems or regularly play in tournaments, then having just one fightstick that works with everything sounds a lot better buying multiple fightsticks to do the same thing. However, because of that key feature, this fightstick isn’t licensed by Sony or Microsoft, which means you’ll never be able to buy this at a regular store. Even tracking these down online isn’t necessarily an easy task, as the few online retailers that carry it are often sold out.

Luckily for me, I was able to purchase one at a tournament I was recently at. Let’s open this bad boy up together.

Random Thoughts About the Relatively Early Days of Competitive Street Fighter X Tekken Play

Street Fighter X Tekken is just under two months old, which is not that old in the competitive fighting game scene. I’m still very much enjoying it. Hope you’re enjoying it too if you’ve been playing this game of late. Not really sure where I want to go with this post yet, but I just had a few thoughts about the early days of Street Fighter X Tekken that I wanted to capture somewhere. I’m just going to write off the top of my head and see where this goes.

Motorstorm: Apocalypse Review

Since the birth of the PS3, the Motorstorm series has been Sony’s go-to arcade racing franchise. Up until now, I haven’t played any of them. I must confess: I had no interest in giving the franchise a shot. I do like arcade racing games, but there wasn’t anything that grabbed me about Motorstorm, at least as someone on the outside looking in.

However, since Motorstorm: Apocalypse was included with the PlayStation 3D Display I picked up a few months ago, I figured I should at least give this a fair shake. Though I came into it fairly apathetically, did Motorstorm win me over in the end?

Mass Effect 3 Single Player Review

The Earth is screwed. At least it appears that way when you first boot up Mass Effect 3. After your Shepard thwarted the Reapers plans in Mass Effect 1 and 2, they’re bringing the pain to your home world. While the temptation is strong to stay and protect your home world, Shepard knows the only way to victory involves him recruiting all the help he can get from across the galaxy.

Are you ready to suit up in hopes of ending the Reaper threat once and for all?

Looking for a Mass Effect 3 Review?

If you’ve been waiting for a Mass Effect 3 review, I’m sorry to keep you waiting. It’s a long game and I’m doing what I can to get through it at my own pace. Without spoiling anything, I can say that it’s a quality product, though I’m still debating in my head exactly how good it is and where it stacks up on the pantheon of Mass Effect games.

Out Now: Mass Effect 3 and Street Fighter X Tekken

While I can’t speak for everyone, this very well could be my biggest new release week of the year. My two most anticipated games of 2012 are out now, and I’ll probably be making a bee line to the store before work to grab copies of both.

Coming Soon: Mass Effect 3

To label myself as “excited” for Mass Effect 3 would be an understatement. Anything less than “giddy like a little school girl” would be selling my excitement short. Mass Effect 3 is my most anticipated game of 2012 and it’s coming out in just a few days.

Coming Soon – Valentine’s Day Massacre Jett vs. Steff in Deadliest Warrior: Legends

Last year on In Third Person, Steff and I celebrated Valentine’s Day with a cute post where she recommended games that are great for couples to play together. This year, we took the next logical step. On February 14, 2012, Steff and I will be battling to the death in Deadliest Warrior: Legends, because nothing is more romantic than William Wallace severing your limbs with a giant sword. You can watch the blood, sweat and saltiness right here on In Third Person!

Jett vs. TS Sabin (Arturo Sanchez) in Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition Version 2012

Arturo Sanchez is widely recognized as one of the top Street Fighter IV and Mortal Kombat players in North America. He’s won and placed high in many major tournaments and he also famously beat Daigo in a first-to-five money match back in 2009 during a time when people thought Daigo was invincible. I’ve been a fan of his Dhalsim and Rose pretty much since I first started watching fighting game streams and videos in 2009.

To my surprise, I ran into him on XBOX Live and did not hesitate to match up with him. Idol worship aside, I kind of had a chip on my shoulder going in. He was commentating my match against Chi Rithy at T12, and though I deserved it, I was a bit salty at how badly he clowned me on the stream. Though the deck was heavily stacked against me, did I manage to get in at least a little bit of revenge on TS Sabin?
